Do really think King Abdulla COULD have appeared with Bush in the Rose Garden if there WASN'T an apology?
Abdulla could not go home to his people if he had stood with an unapologetic American President.
Maybe Abdulla's "wise council" told him to apologize of lose his (mediocre) support.
What do you think?
on edit: I'd also like your views on how a Monarch feels about all Bush's rhetoric about Democracy in the Middle East

| 3. Abdullah, like his father ,is wise and clever like many Arab |
|
leaders have been.
They have to tread through a minefield in international policitcs and take a 'wordly' view, as opposed to Bush & Co and his like who 'tolerate' other nations.
