| So Ted Rall Just Emailed Me.... |
|
I wrote to him two days ago, and asked him this question:
Just curious, if you had to do it over again, would you have drawn it the exact same way, or have your feelings changed at all since you've read people's responses to it?
this is what he wrote back:
I'd make a few nips and tucks here and there for clarity. There are always things you can do better.
Sounds like he's not sorry for what he wrote, but would probably exercise better judgment in how he would explain what his drawings mean.
Thoughts?
Me personally, I respect the guy for having the balls not to back down from his strip. I think he's correct in asserting that cartoon could have used a bit more reflection before it went to print, but overall he certainly has a right to piss as many people off as possible. Which is what great editorialists and cartoonists are supposed to do.

| 1. It's easy to piss people off |

It's not easy to make them think. There is an argument to be made about Tillman not deserving the hosannas he is receiving.
However, Rall did not make that argument. He called him a racist idiot.
But it makes him money I guess. He and Ann Coulter can be happy to be the two "editorialists" in history who never changed one mind.
