1. This whole thing seems very risky for Disney

I disagree with those who think that this is a win win situation.

All a reporter has to do is ask what the reasons for not releasing the film are. Disney's response will either be a lie,the truth or no answer at all.

If Disney/Miramax are unwilling to release the film then logically they should sell it to another distributor. If this does not happen then their motives will be seen as purely political. Also since never showing a film that has already been produced will not generate profit how can Disney stockholder's be happy? Eisner must walk a narrow path since his job is already in jeopardy.

that is, if he's threatening Disney re tax cuts or by other means, which would be, basically, extortion

sorry for the forceful typing there :)

But I can't help but wonder if the Independant has a few plants working there.

Moore did NOT admit a "stunt" and never used that word or implied it in any way.
