Kerry should demand * come clean about the draft.
Force *'s feet to the fire and make him state FOR THE RECORD whether he will, won't, or might, reinstitute the draft. Then when he spins his yarn ask why the f%$# the Selective Service has been reactivated. This shit must come out. People, and sheeple, need to know what they and their children are facting if * gets another 4. Folks must be aware that those soldiers' pictures in Iraq could soon be them or their son or daughter. Why isn't this being shouted from the rooftops by Kerry's campaign??

2. does anyone know?
If drafted, do they ask you what skills you already know and try to place you accordingly or is it straight to the army?

I have a 200-ton Master license and will hope to have my 500-ton Master license by the end of this summer. I think my abilities would be better off in the Navy or CG than on the front lines.

3. Plus it is pretty easily answered
"I can appreciate Mr. Kerry's desire to know about my Draft Plans. I understand the American people are wondering if Mr. Kerry has any plans whatsoever. But in all seriousness, let me say that I don't forsee reinstating the draft. I hope it never comes to that. And I don't think it will. But if it does, I will do what is necessary to protect the American people."

Simple.

4. Exactly. "No new taxes!" becomes "I will NOT institute a draft!"
Only difference is, THIS lie would get Bush a second and final term. Going back on his promise would not lose the next election for him, so he'd be all the more likely to do it.

Then he'd do the "it was necessary to protect the American people" bit, and we'd be looking at 8 more years of another (Jeb) Bush.
