5. yes: 50.6 ... no: 49.4
how can anyone believe that we are making progress in Iraq ... more are dying ... the likelihood of a long-term cultural and religious war grows greater every day ...

our "allies" have seen enough of our failed policies and are leaving Iraq ...

we are draining our budget and doing nothing but swelling the ranks of "terrorist" organizations that hate this country ... we have severe troop shortages worldwide ...

yeah, it's all going just swell ...

6. Isn't The Republican Spin on These Numbers Unpatriotic?
It seems that whenever Bush and company make any comment about the attacks and casualties in Iraq, they always minimize the significance of these events with a variation of the following:

1. This is the result of the actions of a few individuals.
2. We are just encountering a few isolated pockets of resistence.
3. The folks who oppose the American occupation just represent a small minority of the Iraqi people.

Aren't such comments disrespectful of the U.S. military? Afterall, imagine you are soldier getting shot at, whose comrades are being killed or wounded, and there is your president saying that a few individuals are capable of putting this kind of hurt on the freakin U.S. military. God forbid that a "substantial segment" of the Iraqi population, as opposed to few individuals, decides to take up arms or we will really be in trouble. Notwithstanding the billions of dollars we spend on defense, and the training and sacrifices of those in our armed forces, a small minority of a small country can somehow do this kind of damage.

Its kind of like if you got assaulted, and your friend explains, "Its nothing, Mikey just got into a fight with a little wuss."
