Prediction
Things aren't going well in Iraq. This administration needs a diversion and quick. Needs to be somewhere where we already have troops, and could launch from our own bases.

Watch the news over the next few days. You will see an increasing number of stories on human rights abuses in Cuba. You will see hints that Castro may be aiding terrorists, and you will see accusations of Castro causes problems for nations who are "allies" of the US. The talking points are out. This administration will try to draw American attention to Cuba as a diversion. Afterall, Cuba is right next door.

Facts:

1. US panel studies regime change in Cuba
2. Mexico and Peru withdraw their ambassadors from Cuba
3. CNN reports Iraq and Cuba to be two of the most dangerous places for journalists.

Keep you eyes open on some of the International sites over the next few days.

Now I know for a fact this has been going on since I was a young women. What will we do when the poor old man dies?

2. Is Cuba not dangerous for journalists?
Honestly, I really don't know. Is it?

4. I haven't seen any news reports of missing or murdered journalists
in Cuba. Sure Cuba isn't friendly to the press, but that quote seemed strange. How many reporters does the US media have in Cuba beside Gitmo? Just odd to me that this statement from CNN would come at the same time a panel presented recommendations to Bush* for a regime change in Cuba and Mexico and Peru pull their ambassadors. Coincidence?

3. Gotta dig up a new/old villain.
Can't rattle the Saddam saber any longer.
Fidel is the scariest choice for many old timers.
He is also guaranteed to bring out the Florida voting block Bush* so desperately needs in November.

7. That's possible.
But not very likely. I think you are "misunderestimating" this administration's ability to make a bad situation, good. ;)
