"He's the kind of guy I could have a beer with."
I heard that explanation a couple of times before the 2000 election. That Gore was so impersonal, and not funny etc.

Besides the fact that very few Americans have actually SEEN *w, they won't be having a beer (or nonbeer) with the shrub either.

That said, I will still wholeheartedly support the Democratic nominee, wheather I "like" him , or not. I don't need to be enamored of the man. ANYBODY will be a better President than *.

1. I would rather have a beer with Clinton.
At least it would be more interesting. Maybe he could have hooked me up with some women too.

With his intellect and gift for speech, he could keep you spellbound all night. Oh the stories he could tell.

The village idiot on the other hand would be the first one to belittle another for some physical shortcoming, or some point of view. I remember videos of him needling Richard Clarke when they were at odds over terrorisom.
Just let chimpy get a little firewater in the belly and watch the punches fly.

3. i don't want a president who drinks beer!!!
i president should have a certain air about him!!! he should at least drink something decent like a martini or something!!

my god our president is supposed to be the leader of the free world. not a good old boy who downs a couple every Friday night at the local pub with his high school football buddies (or in w's case his college cheerleading buddies, but who needs to split hairs).

4. Bush* is the kind of guy...
...who would be great at a party, because you could be entertained by stumping him with aspects of normal everyday (peasant) life:

"Water bill? You mean you gotta pay for water?"

"Where's your butler, I need another drink."

"Gas station? Don't cars come with gas?"

6. And this "people's guy" is only seen by $2000 plate donors.
He doesn't really mix well with the masses. Could you imagine?

Remember, no clanking while Shithead* speaks.

13. My reply: "Yeah, but I bet he's one mean asshole when he's drunk"
I just KNOW he is. I've been around a lot of drunks, and I'll tell you, Junior is probably about as much fun to be around as pissed-off hornets when he's got a snoot-full.

19. On second thought
that would be a terrible waste of perfectly good fire ant poison. Rented beer mixed with grits is lethal to 'em I'm told. But, I'm from Alabama, so what do I know?

I'd love to have a couple beers with him too. pick his brain and hear his inspirational stories. i think we are sorely desperate for inspiration right now. i know i am, anyways.

17. I will never understand people ...
who vote for a candidate based upon his looks or personality. :wtf:

Intelligence matters!
Compassion matters!
Common sense matters!
Ability matters!
Humility matters!
Sensibility matters!
Respect for other beliefs matters!
Understanding of other cultures matters!
Open-mindedness matters!
Tolerance matters!
Good judgment matters!

The man is going to be responsible for your quality of life for at least the next four years. You're NOT going to marry him and you're NOT going to have a beer with him! Grow up!!! :grr:

21. I know this game...
Edited on Sun May-02-04 12:31 AM by Liberal_Guerilla
Let me try.

He's the kind of guy I could snort coke with.

He's the type of guy I could go whore killing with.

He's the kind of guy I could lynch minorities and liburuls with.

He's the kind of guy I could have a crazy bloody war with.

He's just an average Kennebunkport/Midland/Maine/Texas kind of guy.

How's that?
