| NOW with Bill Moyers, interviews Bob Edwards |
|
This week was an EXTRA strong edition. If you missed it, borrow, steal , or buy a tape copy.
Great segments on the Medicare debacle. (America lost)
VERY interesting angle on the Women's rights march. (Pro choice women of faith)
Interview with Bob Edwards. ( I'm sure mine is not the only household where Bob moving into NOW was discussed. )
With Bill Moyers' impending retirement, I hope the PBS powers that be have their thinking caps on. What a natural transition. Bob could even sleep in!

| 1. I was thinking that too! |

Bob Edwards would be a logical fit, following Brancaccio from NPR.

... in his commentary at the end. Just ripped them a new one, six ways to Sunday, about lying to the American people -- about Bush & Cheney's secret hand-holding testimony.
Go, go Billy ... it's ya' birthday ... we gonna par-tay like it's ya' birthday ...

| 3. I found this show by accident tonight. Very interesting. |

I feel bad that I haven't seen Bill Moyers before today.
His exposure on the medicare bill was something I wish I had been able to see on ABC, CBS, or NBC!
I liked most the interview with Bob Edwards.Sorry to say I never heard him either, but he sure had some very good points tonight.
"A good journalist should be HATED. If they are doing their job, they ask the hard questions noone wants to have to answer."
He also said the news and journalism went bad when the stations decided to make it a profit center. News should never make money, it should be a public service as was intended!
Another very interesting thing he said was that 30% of the PR news people in Bagdad are Washington operatives whose job it is to soften the war and lie to us.

I really hope PBS continues with this show in its current spirit after Bill Moyers retires this fall. I never miss an episode - it's truly a gem!
