3. Very encouraging talk!
The older lady is convincing.

She said there is no way Gore is not going to get drafted and they they have all their ducks in a row.

It sounds like there is a massive interest in getting Gore back

4. I know that's what I was thinking...
...watching a rerun on CSpan of the Gore speech. As I was thinking, "Why don't you run?", my five-year-old cousin came in and said, "Rob, why isn't this man running for President?" And I really didn't know what to say.

Later.

6. Why didn't that man run for president last time?
I caught parts of the speech twice, on C-span. Couldn't turn it
off the second time, even though I'd seen some of it already.

He really did one heck of a fine job. But he actually sounded more like a representative of 'the democratic wing of the democratic party', (or for that matter, a representative of the Green party), than the milquetoast character who ran in 2000.

Not that I'm complaining, but maybe that had something to do with it. The critical difference was that he wasn't running yesterday. And he sounded like it. He was free to tell the truth, with no favors owed to anyone, except maybe the 8 democrats (and Leiberman) currently running...

I've been watching the news channels today for reaction to the speech, but it's been all Hh-nold, all the time, on all 3 channels. <Yuck.> CNN had a little crawler headline "Gore critical of Bush on Iraq" for a minute or so, this morning, but that was about it. Has anyone else noticed any editorial reaction? In print, maybe? www.Commondreams.org has it at the top of their website, but that's no surprise.

7. Al Gore Will Be Secretary of State
It's his job if he wants it in a Democratic administration. He's do a fantastic job repairing all the damage.
