"I enjoyed it"?
Bush just said he "enjoyed" talking to the committee about September 11th.

Enjoyed it?

8. Why wouldn't he?
There was no note taker and no oath required. There will be no transcript and the nation will never learn what he said. And, it's likely Cheney answered all the questions.

I only hope some of the folks on his side heard what he had to say.

22. I think there was going to be a notetaker
Two in fact, if what I read was accurate. One for the WH and one for the commission. Just no stenographer and no recording devices. I do hope the person taking notes for the commission at least had great shorthand.

15. He's so rude, he belched, he hiccuped, he cut off the one
reporter and didn't even hear one thing out of the reporters mouth, he already decided he didn't want to answer anything. He's logic about if they had anything to hide, they wouldn't have agreed to talk to the commission is stupid logic. He didn't give the reporter a chance to ask then why wouldn't he swear under oath. What a waste, I hope Bob Kerry resigns out of protest.

Actually, I think he was chewing the inside of his mouth because the botox was controlling the smirk.

You know how his top lip tremors after a statement sometimes?

Well, this time it didn't. You are right, his top lip looked unshaven and turned down - - no smirk.

But . . . his bottom lip trembled today. Guess they thought it was only the top lip, but Nature abhors a vaccuum and the tremor excaped to the bottom one.

and also said 2001 was "a fabulous year" for him and Laura at the end of the year. I don't believe any other president would have taken political advantage of a tragedy like that, but he is a sicko and appears to relish doing it.

45. Atrios has something about this too
http://atrios.blogspot.com/

"Liars

How many times will the White House lie before the press realizes that, you know, they LIE.

Yesterday's big news: There will be no full record of the session, even by the White House.

Elisabeth Bumiller and Philip Shenon write in the New York Times: "The White House said on Tuesday that there would be no recording or formal transcription of the historic joint interview of President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney by the independent commission investigating the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. . . . "

John Roberts reports for CBS News: "The White House today claimed that commission interviews with Bill Clinton and Al Gore were not transcribed.

"But in fact, CBS News has learned, those sessions were recorded and will eventually be transcribed."

28. Says he's *Glad he did it and glad he took the time*
What a kindergartner!!! He's obstinate and defensive. Where is the President who would say - The families and survivors of 9/11 deserve to have every aspect of that day examined. They deserve to have all pre-9/11 preparations examined. I am doing everything in my power to keep anything like that from ever happening again. The American people have my solemn word that the mistakes of 9/11 will not be repeated on my watch. I love this country and it means more to me than an elected office, I will bear personal responsibility for any mistakes and lapses in security and judgment that occurred. Now, that would be a President whom I trusted and admired, not Mr. Paranoia who is just trying to avoid getting *trapped* during a 2 minute press conference.

37. Ugh
But it's real, and it's human. I keep thinking of Clinton saying that he thinks of events pertaining to 9/11 and wonders if he could have changed anything. It's normal to second guess oneself and to make improvements. This is what makes me so disgusted with this administration - no humility nor humanity.

He is so defensive, I don't know how the press enjoys working with him as president. He's got to be the most resistant person I've ever watched on TV. I always cringe when they address him as Mr. President, did you notice him interrupting after the press started a question, Dumbya says again, "YES, 'burp' go ahead," like some turret scream? WTF?

I heard him say, *I said I wasn't going to give specific details and I fell into your trap* I knew then it was all about him and nothing to do with helping the country heal from an attack. I just cannot imagine President Gore treating the citizens of the U.S. this way.
