Specter/Toomey vs. Hoeffel
Edited on Tue Apr-27-04 08:11 PM by Rainless Blur
So you've all heard by now that Specter has a slim lead over Toomey as of 9pm. With that being said, I'd rather see Specter win just because even if he does beat Hoeffel in November, at least he's a moderate Republican.

Reading between the lines here, though, if the emergency Bush endorsement is the reason why he wins, then that probably doesn't bode well for Kerry.

Thoughts?

3. I wouldn't mind seeing Spector win
Just because of the way he voted in The Clinton Impeachment. Talk about screwing the Repukes!

4. Don't forget, Arlen Specter gave us Clarence Thomas
It was his relentless abuse of Anita Hill that allowed Thomas to hang on at the end. May Specter rot in Hell for that.

5. Toomey's leading in Northhampton County
No big surprise, I guess.

Toomey, P. 2,284
Specter, A. 1,167

7. I don't think a Bush endorsement helping Specter means much in the general
sure it'll help among REPUBLICANS, but it doesn't show Bush is popular overall in Pennsylvania. But I think the Republicans voting for Specter are doing so because:

a) they aren't complete wingnuts
and/or
b) they think he's more electable
