April 22, 2004 - Rob Maine is a regular reader who sends me e-mails with comments and observations about all sorts of things.

For the last month Rob has been bugging me about a story that needed to be told. Rob learned that NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command, a joint United States-Canadian organization, had been conducting counter-terrorism air defense drills between February 2000 and June 2001.

The U.S. Air Force, Air National Guard and Coast Guard were involved and Rob has copies of military documents, Power Point presentations and Joint Chiefs of Staff memos off the Internet to prove it.

The drills involved jet drones, small aircraft representing cruise missiles and terrorist hijacked suicide planes attacking large cities at low altitudes.

As Rob asked, "Does this sound familiar?"

JUST A REMINDER

Operation Northwoods...

“may be the most corrupt plan ever created by the U.S. government.”

Well, that is, the most corrupt plan ever created before Sept. 11th, 2001. Remember this : JFK squashed the "operation Northwoods" proposal and had run out of patience with the CIA. He was planning on restructuring the agency and threatened to "scatter it to the four winds". He paid for that intention with his life.

This time, they had a more sympathetic and like minded President in office. Let's face it, George W Bush is NO Jack Kennedy.
