Tweety calls Gore a Loser
"why does Al walk around like a loser" ? "He got the most votes but he acts like a loser".

Tweety resorts to his whore-self. Geez, give it up Tweety.

One more thing, Gore pledged to endorse a candidate....how does he not endorse his former Veep ? I think he will wait for Holy Joe to drop out.....to avoid embarassment. Bill Press said Gore was directly slapping Holy Joe with his speech today.

Buchanan and Press is probably the best show on politics, both are very good analysts and both anti-neo-con. Both of them laughed for almost 5 minutes straight today, when someone said Arnold was the son of a nazi and a porn star.

28. Gore had many points - how did Tweedy spin them?
Edited on Thu Aug-07-03 09:33 PM by papau
The Take aways seemed to be that Bush "routinely shows disrespect" for the "honest and open debate" that produces the truth - "I think it's partly because they feel they already know the truth, and aren't very curious to learn about any facts that might contradict it," - as he persues a divisive, ideologically narrow agenda, misleading the nation on issues from Iraq to the economy.

Tweedy usually avoids that which is obviously true but hurts Bush and does the "Gore did not stand straight - wrong color suit - and Bush's push-up jump suit gave the look of having a larger penis than Gore which Tweedy likes - and other similiar in depth analysis.

So did Tweedy dispute any of Gore's statements?

41. No, he didn't dispute them. He said he agreed with
"just about everything he said". I didn't really take the loser quote as an insult. He didn't actually call him a loser, but stated that after the election he acted like one - sort of as a contrast to how Bush would have acted if the tables had been turned and Bush won the popular vote but still lost - that being, Bush would have strutted around the country like some royal whose thrown had just been swiped from underneath him.

2. Press is awesome,
Buchanan is not so awesome. He's homophobic, racist, sexist, and anti-semitic. And the word anti-semitic is thrown around here too much, but believe me, if someone ever deserved the title of anti-semite, it's Pat Buchanan. He has denied that the Holocaust happened, and he has launched vicious tirades against AIDS patients. He's a scumbag, plain and simple.

but as a political analyst, paired with Press...he and Press make a very good show...be objective.

In my opinion Buchanan isnt a whore,,,offensive in the past? yes,,,,,but he is better than most on the idiot box.

5. Gore, a loser? Excuse me, but who's lost the war in Afganistan,
Edited on Thu Aug-07-03 06:47 PM by acmavm
lost the battle for "hearts and minds" in Iraq, completely screwed up the economy, run the country into bankruptcy, had to resort to lying about everything he ever said and did, had to take the "back door" into the White House because he wasn't "invited" in the front (by the American people), and turned out to be a lying turdhurse in general? I think think I just described Georgie Boy.

12. wryter--unfortunately nobody heard Gore's speech
I was sickened by this evenings news--you know, where most Americans get their news. It said he gave a speech; it showed him at the lecturn; it said he criticized Bush but not "how, what, when, where and to what extent"....yawn, yawn.........another screaming into the widerness. They won't let the words be heard. I'm glad you heard them. What were they?? For 99.999% of this country, they heard nothing.

some of the things that Tweety spouts are among the dumbest, most inane (and at times like this, homoerotic) $hit I've ever heard.

So we're supposed to think that because someone struts like a stud that they're better somehow????? Give me a REAL man. Real men don't have to strut, they are comfortable just being.

Closeted gays like Tweety and * strut.

14. Tweety should know. He's had the lowest rated show for years
It's weird that G.E. has been grooming their buttboy replacement for Russert for so long. Even after all these years, he has consistently ranked at the bottom of all the cable news talk shows. Even Donahue usually had better numbers and they canned him for poor ratings.

15. I AGREE with Tweety.
Shocking, even for me.

WHY does Al Gore walk around like a loser? His behind needs to be in this race, in Bush's face.

He DID win, and he could use some of Bush's fake swagger.

What Tweety doesn't get though, is that Alby is a gentleman.

17. I might actually agree with the Tweet-meister in this one case...
Gore HAS acted like a loser ever since he quit before the game was over in December 2000.

That very act of quitting itself was the act of a loser.

I support Gore as elder statesman/advisor to the Dem prez, but his credibility as a candidate is nil.

20. It's called dignity and graciousness
For the unity of the country, Gore stepped outside and stepped out of the limelight. Bush is the President and not only does the country need only 1 leader, the President is also the one that must take ALL responsibility. Gore hasn't been involved, no one can claim Gore has been causing any divisiveness in the country. He acted like a true statesman and that makes me like him more. Now is the exact time for all the Democrats to come out on the same page and bury this Administration with their own heaping, stinking pile of poop. And it starts in California, making Bush take responsiblity for the budget crisis in that state and pointing out the absurdity of campaigning a movie star in the midst of a war on terror, state budget crisis, and unemployment crisis. California's problems won't be solved with Hollywood stunts.

Seriously, though, I really like both Bill AND old Pat. He's a cool old dude, who's not afraid to say what's on his mind...and we're free to disagree with him when he's wrong, because HE isn't trying to suspend all rights to dissent.

And Tweety will be ok...sounded to me like he wants Gore to strut his stuff and kick some ass....a little man motivation...

25. Matthews made a good point
He said that what he sees as the problem with the Democratic Party is the defeatist, depressed attitude .. that here we have a guy Al Gore who won the popular vote who has a depressed, sad air about him.. that if it were Bush who won the popular vote but lost the election, he would be all over Texas strutting around saying how he really won... that Gore essentially needs to do more of what he did today.

Matthews wasn't putting down Dems, he was offering constructive criticism. Remember, Matthews is still a Democrat who worked for Tip Oneil and Jimmy Carter. Matthews voted for Clinton twice, but voted for Bush in 2000 because it probably worked better for his career (the cable news audience is very white male and very republican). Matthews sold his soul and is a complete whore who will play left or right depending on the audience, but deep down he probably is still a Dem when he takes the media whore mask off at home, and probably wishes the Dems could be a strong party again.

I caught that segment too.

Is it the testosterone that clouds Tweety's thinking or is it just the aging male brain? Gees. he is an embarrassing jerk when he starts to drool over Chimpy's coveted manhood. There is something very creepy and sick about that. When he went on about Gore acting like a "loser" I thought "No, he has dignity". I was pleased that his guest made the same point.

38. Actually, there was more to what Tweety said (context)
Long before the "loser" remark, Tweety said this (and I am paraphrasing):

Could you imagine what would have happened had Bush won the popular vote and had been denied the electoral vote by the Supreme Court? Bush would have gone back to Texas as the legitimate king, denied his rightful throne by an usurper. You would have never heard the end of it! Look at Gore. Gore won the election yet he acts like a loser!(end of paraphrase)
