"No President Left Behind"
I was playing Texas hold'em tonight with my sisters daughter and niece. We were talking about the SAT9 testing in California and the amount of meaningless homework being piled on our kids these days without any real constructive education as the stupid teaching to the test is destroying in class instruction. We decided that if Bush insists on "no child left behind" that he be required to take the test himself to see if we would pass. I therefore think we need a "No President Left Behind" site which requires Bush to pass the eighth grade equivalency test (and no, Cheney cannot hold his hand). I demand that this loser prove he is worthy of commanding this nation!!!!!

3. Yes!
'Tis clever indeed.

This teaching to the test crap is what's kept me out of teaching. I got half-way into the teacher certification program, got into the classroom for some observation, and suddenly realized that this whole thing was insane. It really destroyed me, sapped every bit of desire I had to teach.

Having gone another track that's left me completely dissatisfed, I may go back and try it again, but only with an eye towards eventually changing this.

4. colorado's governor, repuke bill Owens failed the CSAP
(the Colorado proficiency exam)

It created quite a chickle around here.

The neocon/repug emphasis on "standards" it is utter nonsense.

They have worked diligently to destroy public education in the US for three generations (maybe longer now). They realized just how dangerous an educated population can be to a rulin oligarchy and just how easy it is to manipulate ignorant people who don't know how to think. (Some current polls are a reflection of their success.)
