Cartoonist Darby CONLEY - "Get Fuzzy"
Edited on Mon Apr-19-04 10:47 AM by UTUSN
All of his stuff so far has revolved around the joke about how despicably mean the cat is, but today there's this:

On Edit: How come the pic won't print here? 2nd Edit: Added the gif, thanks to JHB, for impact.

Weird when he gets political.

2. He's an intelligent cartoonist
A lot of his jokes go way beyond "stupid cat" :D Though that is a recurring theme. I love Get Fuzzy, and I think it's very interesting to see even a traditionally non-political cartoon make a commentary like that...

4. It won't show...

...because the link you're using doesn't end with the graphics tag (".gif") so browsers don't know to show the graphic instead of just the link, probably to prevent people from doing what you're doing.

If you go to the Cartoonist's Syndicate site, they have a version you can link up with:

Eerily similar to today's Doonsbury. Coincidence, or a cartoonists' protest?

7. Not really...
...except to point out that the only checks that bounced were Republican FACT CHECKS.

8. The Jerk Doesn't Even Know How to Pronounce "Err"
He's using it as a sound-alike to "air". Thanks for the suggestion, will get right on it.

11. Not to be contrarian, but I thought "err" was pronounced
"air" my old roommate and I had a lengthy conversation about it. I think the conclusion was that either was acceptable, but maybe I just managed to convince him that the wrong pronunciation was actually right.

12. Guess We're Both Correct via Online Webster's, But
But my ancient, hardcopy Webster's Collegiate has

as its only listing, while the online version shows "air" first. I always thought "ere" was "air" and "err" was "urrr".

As I understand it, AirAm either witheld or stopped the next payment. You can't bounce a check you never issued, and there's a difference between not having sufficient funds and deciding to withold them.
