60 minutes and freepers
Does anyone know the stats of the average viewer of 60 minutes?? Do freepers watch it?

1. .
Freepers seem to view anything that's not National Review level drivel with suspicion.

2. They watch, then organize
...nasty letter campaigns. I couldn't believe the BS that the staff read on the air after they interviewed Clarke!

If you can spare a stamp, you might write them a positive letter to offset the reams of crap the Freepers will send.

3. A quick Google search turned this up.
From Newsmax. Not very detailed, though.

'60 Minutes' Audience Getting as Old as Mike Wallace

CBS's long-running "60 Minutes" should be sponsored by Geritol and other products aimed at the graying population, a new audience analysis shows.

Younger viewers, on the other hand - those in the prized 18-49 age group - are deserting the show in droves.

According to Nielsen Media Research data, the median age of viewers for "60 Minutes" has grown from 57 to 59, while its 18-34 and 18-49 age group ratings are lower by 13 percent and 19 percent, respectively.

4. I would love to find ratings for specific shows.
I must admit there are many times I don't watch 60 Mins. But there was a lot of advertising for the show Clarke was on, then Condi, and the Woodward one today.

I have no idea how to find out, but it would be interesting to see their ratings for those particular shows.

This program isn't like a weekly series where people tune in to see what happens. I would think it's more when there's a subject a lot of people are interested in.

It sure seemed like a LOT of people watched Clarke!!!!

5. No current info but...
I used to work in the advertsing sales department of an NBC affiliate. 60 Minutes had sky-high ratings with older viewers, 50+ and 65+. I don't remember anything about political preference, but it's definitely a show that attracts older people.

6. Its not a bad thing to have viewers in that age.
They are more politically active and they are more likely to vote. And in the end what difference does age make? If you can reach more people with a message, you can influence the political process.

8. No, freepers can't focus on anything for longer than
60 seconds. If they tried, their puny little brains would explode.

Faux News soundbites are about all they can handle.

11. they do a great job
I sometimes wonder if they tire of my troll alerts. But I am following the DU rules: instead of my first instinct which is to trash them with obscenities I'm hitting alert.
