What is the root cause of terrorism? / My Greg Palast ?

IsnÕt occupation the root cause of terrorism?

If not, what is the root cause of terrorism?

Is it the place of the US to deem when Iraq has a legitimate government or not, isnÕt that up
to the Iraqi people?

What if the Iraqi people donÕt want a democracy, can and should we protect an Iraqi puppet president forever?

When will the US know it can leave Iraq?

Ask conservatives this question:

Would you tolerate a foreign militarily presence in the US, and would you resort to terrorism
if your countryÕs military could not fight that foreign military?

2. Believe it or not, I just heard this question posed on the whore CNBC
cable Bush TV channel. It seemed as if the whole panle was in agreement that yes it does, and that yes, Chimpy war boy is in big trouble by simple default of bringing in the UN, which his base is fanatically against.

3. Well, if Sadam Hussein were running the USA,
I'd gladly tolerate my liberators for a short while. One thing's for sure: If we pull out at this point we'll never know what the Iraqi people want because a relatively small band of thugs and theocrats will make the decision for them. Let's hope the elections occur per the timetable set forth so they can self-determine.

5. Remember the Red Coats.
There is nothing more American than fighting a foreign militarily presence in your country.

Remember the red coats.

The Irish fought the English over occupation, i.e. (land disputes) not 17 virgins.

The western media loves to exaggerate the 17 virgins angle as the reason for terrorism and minimize
or completely ignore an occupying foreign military as the main reason for terrorism.

6. Irish "terrorists"
Irish "terrorists" were not brainwashed by a charismatic leader.

They are not an uneducated people.

They donÕt have radical religious beliefs.

They were not promised virgins for their sacrifice.

And, they donÕt live in hopeless poverty.

They were just sick of being occupied by the English.
