Although I am not from California I have been interested in California politics since the recall. A few days ago I was thinking about the recall and all the promises Schwarzenegger had made when he was a candidate. At the time I was thinking that he had broken all of his promises except not raising taxes, overturning the tripling of the car tax, and overturning the law that allowed illegal immigrants the right to a driver's license. In a previous decussion someone mentioned that the governor may now have to raise taxes despite the bond measure. I would like to know if the people of California realize that some of there current debt was caused by Schwarzenegger when he overturned the tripling of the car tax. In addition, I would like to know if Californians think Schwarzenegger is responsible for eliminating all $38 billion of the state's debt, or if they know that Davis eliminated $30 billion of the debt before he left office. I curious about this in that the national media always claimed that California's debt was $38 billion. They never mentioned that Davis had eliminated $30 billion of the debt until after the recall election. So I was wondering if the people of California had been duped like the rest of the country.
