Guerrilla Warfare Worries U.S. Military
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040418/ap...

Officials suspect former members of Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s Baath party of being behind some of the campaign. Baathist operatives once ruled Iraq under a blanket of fear. Now they are recreating that aura of intimidation, experts say.

"The Baath was and is a secretive party that knows how to operate underground. These guys are good," said Robert Baer, a former CIA (news - web sites) operative who worked covertly in northern Iraq during a 21-year career in the Middle East.

"The plan is to force all contractors out. Kidnapping, mutilations and executions will work, as they did in Lebanon" during the civil war in the 1980s, Baer said. "This will be the template for Iraq."

3. Do you recall in the beginning...........
..when some good military analysists said that basically Sadaams army won't fight much when we invade because they know they can't win straight up, one on one. But, they predicted that they would lay low, and come back in just this way about a year later when we thought it was "safe to go into the water" so to speak. These are the analysists who were sneered at, brushed aside and not invited back on our propaganda media because they weren't getting us all liquored up for the glorious conquest and the flowers stewn in front of our tanks. This is what the intelligent people knew who were familiar with this kind of warfare and the way in which people like this fight. And now our regime wants us to forget how we got into this mess and stop asking questions.
