| Israel and US relationship operates like a pressure valve.... |
|
When Israel is under pressure, the US can relieve it by their actions in Iraq and surrounding area, taking the pressure off the Israeli government. And when the US is under "siege" in Fallujah and the war is not going well in Iraq, Israel can help by "redirecting" the attention of the Arabs elsewhere, back to the age-old Palestine/Israeli issue. Whether or not this is ever planned this way, I think that is the result of each nation's actions, as when Israel assassinates an Hamas official (terrorist), it redirects attention away from the present American dilemma.

| 2. It's less like a pressure valve and more like a competition |

to see who can kill more Arabs the fastest. Sadly, it's hard to tell who's winning because the body count won't stay still long enough to see it.
