Poll question: Air America Radio: now which is your favorite show?
Now that you've had half-a-month to listen to Air America's Radio shows, your favorite is.....

Sorry, polls are turned off at Level 3.

2. Randi Rhodes and Majority Report about evenly.
They are both terrific. I was not sure about Randi Rhodes at first, but I am really impressed by her now. She is great.

3. Randi rocks.
I've been listening to her online for about eight months now. I wasn't quite sure on the first or second listen, but by the third show, I was hooked.

4. The only thing about O'Franken that annoys me...
...is when he screams "LIIIIIIIIIIAAAARRR! LIIIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAARRRR!"

I'm kind of hoping he outgrows that fairly quickly.

6. One man's....
And that's one of the things I particularly like about Al. Love it, him, Katherine, their interplay, and analysis.

Love all the shows, really, and am having a helluva time getting anything done.

8. Yes, I agree entirely. O'Franken just has a FEW things to be fixed
and he'll be 100%... he's almost there.

5. Honestly! I Like Them All!
I even heard BRING THE NOISE tonight -- very, VERY cool stuff! That's a show that needs to be spun off on XM or SIRIUS for the full stereo effect.

They still need Mike Malloy, and Janeane needs to pull back on the preaching in the third hour, but all in all they're settling into the routine nicely.

My favorite network bit, though, is Marc Maron's Liberal Agenda, faxed from our leader Barbara Streisand's compound ("Donate Season Three DVDs of SEX AND THE CITY to local grade school for their annual Our Bodies, Our Selves lessons. Also season one of OZ.")

17. I've been listening for six months or more,

and this is the first time I've noticed just how sucky-uppy he is, making her noises and her accents and all that shyt. It's great when she does those things, but when he imitates her, all he's adding is ass-kissing noises. I can't freaking stand him.

Oh, well, I guess I'll learn to tune him out. :eyes:

He's kindof annoying, but he for some reason raises Randi's game.

10. Randi by a mile
i love all the shows, but i am blown away by Randi. She has total command of the issues, and she's a freakin' spark plug! besides being hilarious. I can't say enough good things about her.

12. Well, not entirely
Randi doesn't have *total* command of the issues, but she does pretty damn well for being just one person. I'm not sure if she has a research team, but she could use one.

One example... early on, a caller was highlighting that IRV (Instant Runoff Voting) would be one election reform that might bring more democracy to our democracy, but Randi semi-bullied her, telling her that IRV wasn't possible because of the lack of paper trails.

Randi seemed totally unfamiliar with the concept of Instant Runoff Voting (and likely Proportional Representation, but it wasn't covered) and misconstrued IRV as having something to do with the hazards of electronic voting sans paper trail.

Not really an example, but a difference of opinion... Randi seems extremely focused on Bush's behavior at the time of the first 9/11 airplane strike, but I just don't see how it's nearly as relevant as Bush's negligence prior to 9/11 or his incompetence (and perhaps high crimes) from late December 2001 and on (relative to his crusade against Iraq).

Top of my head, I can't come up with anything else that stands out, beyond that which makes her personality interesting.

16. I caught that!
Oh yes, I definitely got the impression Randi didn't know what she was talking about. I also happen to know a bit about IRV. I listened to that particular show twice, too, so I have a pretty good sense for how the interaction with that caller went down.

I do like her and think she's very talented, not to mention the fact that she fills a great big need in the marketplace for somebody to kick bush's ass up one side of the street and down the other. But that interaction with that particular caller caused me to think negatively of her, and it's still something I'm still a bit hung up on.

19. I'm with ya, Cher
... but let's not nurse it as a grudge. What say we send some IRV her way via e- or US- mail?

Or maybe we should just contact FairVote.org and have John Anderson 'splain it all to her?

21. Randi, of course... and with good reason
Seasoned radio professional. She knows her stuff. She's a fighter. She's not the dry monotone NPR and Pacifica type.

Half a month in. Two months in. 1 year in. Randi is and will remain Air America's bread and butter.
