11. Boortz is no libertarian
About the only issue where he parts company with the Repukes is the war on drugs. He's always shilling for Bush, and real libertarians can't stand the guy.

12. I think you are right Sandpiper...
on occasion I listen to Gene Burns...who is a Liberatarian... on KGO out of San Francisco, and his views tend to be radically different from Boortz! Burns is okay, but some of viewpoints border on the absurd! www.kgo.com from 9pm to 12am. eastern time.

14. I disagree--
Libertarians and Republicans share some ground, but Boortz does not spew the mantra. He goes where Repubs fear to tread:

Flat tax.
Anti Wal-Mart (property rights)
Relative secularist
Anti War on Drugs.
Maximum personal liberty

He supports the War in Iraq, which breaks ranks with Large-L libertarians, but his support is based strictly on national security issues- not party line rhetoric.

It's not fair to call a libertarian a shill because he shares common ground. The parties are more nuanced than that. If he was a republican, thought like a republican, voted like a republican, acted like a republican-- he'd CALL HIMSELF a republican.

19. Thank you...REAL Libertarians loathe Boortz
Boortz is blindly supporting Bush 80-90% of the time...Libertarians oppose nearly everything Bush has done domestically and internationally.

15. You are correct Sandpiper
Edited on Thu Apr-15-04 12:37 PM by daa
He voted for Bubba Chambliss and worked hard against Max Cleland for senate in Gerogia.

He is pro war and some Libertarians tried to get him off the speakers list for the Libertarian Convention.

He doesn't mind those federal subsidies at PDK airport for his plane.

He is a bag of wind but does make more sense than Oxy Moron.

16. Actually there are two others issues....
Boortz doesn't give a shit about the Confederate flag and thinks the anti-gay faction is a bunch of loons.

He has done a decent job on emminent domain as well.

18. yup... there is only black and white...
...in the world of anybody left of center. That's one of the main pillars in the foundation of conservatism. Along with miss-applied logic and a truck load of informal fallacies.
