Whomever posted about the GM ONSTAR commercials @ AAR...
I hope you're happy, I notice that I haven't heard any ONSTAR commercials on AAR since the Freepers copied your post and sent it to GM.
:grr:
Most corporations are RW Whores and it will be difficult for them to get ads which is revenue which is $$$$$$$$$$$ so they can continue to report the TRUTH about our SAD Country and our embarassing President.
:grr:
So, Thanks for running off an AAR advertiser and a good source of $$$$ for our voices in the RW media!

4. I will kick this thread until we stop bashing AAR and their Advertisers...
AAR has made me sooo much happier over the past 2 weeks. The TRUTH feels good. The TRUTH makes me smile because the truth has the RW & Neo-Cons running for cover.

We need AAR to succeed. I NEED AAR to succeed.

8. Disable Your OnStar
Edited on Thu Apr-15-04 08:34 AM by Kong
I have no idea what the OnStar commercials are about, or what this posting is about to tell the truth, but I have to tell you this. If you have the OnStar system in your vehicle you can be eavesdropped on at any time electronically. I don't know if you are aware of it or not but every single sound inside of your vehicle can be tapped into at any time, and your location given at the same time. Doesn't matter if its activated or not. It is very much as if you paid to plant a bug in your own vehicle. Just thought you would like to know.

10. That has nothing to do with it. The OnStar commercials were annoying
OnStar is an option. One can choose the option or not. That isn't the beef here.

The beef is slamming AARs advertisers. That is the beef.

The tracking of your location can be done with your cell phone, XM, Sirrus, your pager, and a whole bunch of stuff. Hell people can hear my conversations on my home cordless phone.

Listen, I agree with you. But that isn't the reason for my post.

IF you want to start a campaign to force GM to make sure that their customers are informed of the privacy issue then GREAT. Get it together and I'll write letters and email and call till I pass out.

But that isn't the foundation for my original post. :)

19. Olive branch ..... .... ..
To the GM sponsors who appreciated Left Radio, rather than simply used it as a commercial forum, allow me to say this:

Electronic communication devices in emergencies are recognized worldwide as life savers. Thank you for you participation in the development of this wonderful (over-used as toys) technology. Bravo.

To GM and other sponsors. We Lefties are convinced that GM is wrong on Hydrogen cars, willfully wrong, wasting our money on Hydrogen while Hybrid-drive tech wins 10 arguments to 1 over Hydrogen. Stop it.

All Seattle Rail projects (Link LRT, Green Line monorail, Lake Union Streetcar) are engineering stunts of worst-case example. 150 miles south, Portland provides ready examples for guidance, but no, it's not possible that Seattle planners could "unintentionally" produced 3 half-assed proposals, 4 when you count the ridiculous Waterfront Relocation Proposal the P-I printed awhile back.

I will buy any GM associated with electric motor drive. Heavier, Hybrid Battery Packs, placed low on frame, improve stability - the Top Safety Factor advantage of Hybrids. Both Saturn and Ford Hybrids have been long awaited. Buy one. Good investment. Order now. However, the battery packs on both are lightweight minimal power, thus not 2nd Generation Hybrids. The Top tech is Honda. Toyota is most practical. Saturn and Ford, thankfully, have finally built the 1st generation prototype future car/truck. GM's Truck Division produced the Best electric vehicle ever EV-1.

But you Automobile Manufacturers have got to stop kidding yourselves about Hydrogen cars and computer-drive tech and stop condemning pedestrians, bicyclers, trees and transit users to 'non-existent' in your city/suburb development plans.

Seattle Rail Projects, Link LRT, Greenline monorail and Lk Union Streetcar, are designed as dysfunctional underperformers. The situation is 'satisfactory' for some with a history of being unfriendly to trains, transit and the non-motorist, non-customer.

Research: The Seattle Circulator Plan...

9. settle down, i heard one last night on AAR.
Edited on Thu Apr-15-04 08:42 AM by SheepyMcSheepster
and i am one of those evil people said a few of the commercials with the people screaming are a bit harsh on the ears. I first became annoyed with them when listening to our local AM Rush Limbaugh station. I am happy that they sponsor air america, but they should really tone them down a bit if they want people to actually listen to them. It is nobody's fault but their own if their commercials cause me to react quickly by turning down the volume.

note: it is not the whole series of onstar commercials, to be specific the ones that i can't listen to are the "lady has accident and drives off road" and "lady locks her baby and her keys in the car".

as for supporting AAR, i stream all day at work and until i go to bed at home.

11. Hey I agree, I have some little speakers here in my office and when
their commercials come on I have to reach really quick to turn the sound down on my laptop. That is to hide the fact that I'm the enemy within to my RW bosses!!

I can't let them know that I'm a spy for the Liberal Left. ;)

They don't have the auto-leveling in their studios to control the sound for the commercials. Technically they aren't even supposed to be airing commercials on the web. I'm going to send them a note to day to let them know if they don't know already cuz I don't want them to get slammed by the FCC.

14. That Would Be ME....LOL!!
I go out of my way to support the AirAm sponsors in fact just contributed to Kerry with my shiny new AmEx card...

I hardly think my commenting that hearing constant "emergency car crash" commercials in the car is somewhat unsettling for those of us navigating the L.A. freeways, resulted in them losing a sponsor.

Give me a fucking break.

Calm the hell down before I call an on-star adviser to stay with you until help arrives! HA!
