Here's what they're saying in Freeperland about the Press Conference
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1117179/posts

Interesting that there doesn't seem to be a multitude of posts about it like there are here. I'm sure that means something. I'm sure some thoughtful poster will tell me exactly what. I'm a little too tipsy to comment, however.

It's amazing to me that two groups of people see such starkly different things when they watch the man, however. When I watch him I see an addled, drugged, confused puppet thinking hard of words he's read on cue cards at previous press "readings". But some of these freepers see a...ummm...LEADER!!! It's maddening, yes. :wow:

But, perhaps what's more notable is the stark difference in perception of the man. Are we becoming more vehement and polarized in our opposition to our fellow human being who also happens to be on "the other side of the isle"?

**disclaimer**
above are the drunk ramblings of no one in particular not to be taken to seriously or to start a flame war over. :hi:

2. so
they're...beneath us? I'm not prepared to make such a claim. One of them is my in-law. As much as she drives me crazy, I'll never call her..."less" than me. It's not my nature....

8. Just kidding
I'm sure your in-laws are fine people. I'm not used to seeing conciliatory language on these boards. It does make me nervous. Being nice and seeking accomodation is how we got marginalized and vilified by the rabid right in the first place.

I never said they're fine people. LOL!!

And please, don't break your ten year streak for silly ol' me.

Yes, you're right. I guess real offerings of peace don't make for good web chatter. What the f*ck do I know??

3. We see him as 1/2 insane, they see him as 1/2 sane.
I read through a few pages of their one-liners.

The short, short version-

(1) The press are traitors, just like the Democrats.
(2) pResident Dimson has never been as truthful, in control, and peaceful as he was tonight.

(1) The press are traitors, just like Rethugs
(2) pResident has never been as addled, confused, and unsure of his little venture in to politics than tonight.

how much of a wedge are politicians between "we the people"?

11. You are correct.
But this is a divise construct developed by the Republicans. See Clinton Inquisition. It ain't up to us to convert to the kool-aid drinkers side. They have to "see the light".

Honestly, if the Democratic Party had done the things that we've experienced in the past 12 years, I'd have joined the Republican Party a long, long time ago.

9. For the first time, I watched it all...previous record was 7 minutes.
I can see how people would "want" to believe him...as much as I hate the man, I found myself almost hypnotized by his voice if I stopped analyzing every word for lies. But I had to because I was afraid I would give myself a heart attack by jumping up and screaming the truth at the TV. My sanity was saved only by the repetitive lull of the loudly muttered "filthy sack of lying shit".

I know every portion of his stance and utterances are carefully crafted and rehearsed. Luckily, he's a shitty actor and an even worse orator. The only skill he has is to bullshit; I saw that so called "charm" for the first time tonight, and I had this vision of him standing in the unemployment line, hearing the sonorous "Did you bullshit this week?"

Yes, we are polarized. There are those who cannot allow their beautiful minds to be spoiled by the truth. But buck up: I do believe that number is now down to around 38%.

12. I have to think that given Bush's lack of talent to be president and the
freeper support for him there is a mental problem there somewhere. Really stupid people see Bush as a great leader. Some repubs know he is a sock puppet put there to improve their financial status and I don't think they are crazy but those who are daily getting screwed by this administration yet fawn over Bush have to be mentally off.
