I'm afraid of a cultlike political movement coming
Edited on Tue Apr-13-04 09:03 PM by jokerman2004
Watching Lord George's performance. All the rhetoric and the so-called "fundie code-words", now FOX is making the point that we've been at war with "THEM" for over a decade a now.

And fear fear fear.

And then I wonder what Sun Myung Moon could possibly contribute to Bush's re-election.

(All that came after I watched the president up there chattering about God and America and changing the world, believing every word he was saying -- and I felt scared in a kind of uh-oh "here comes the fascist dream" way.)

:puke:

4. I'm scared and depressed
This guy gets up there and spouts stuff that bears no relation to reality: that we may yet find WMDs, that Saddam refused to disarm, that things are going well in Iraq, and that the Iraqi people are better off now than they were, that America is safer now that we have invaded Iraq, yadda, yadda, yadda.

YOu would think the news people would be laughing or booing him out of the room. You would think that, at the very least, they would call him on these lies after the charade is over. But they don't.

If anything, I got a sense that the news people were sort of relieved that Bush made it through. It's like they were anxious for him!

This is a guy who rules like he doesn't have to face re-election*. And tonight he said it outright: "I don't plan on losing my job." That scares the crap out of me.

I think he's a little megalomaniac who is being used as a puppet by some of the most evil people who ever walked the Earth. When he started on that rant about changing the world, changing the Middle East, bringing the Almighty's gift of freedom to the world, etc., I started feeling sick.

He's on a mission from God. He doesn't feel an ounce of responsibility if people die. He doesn't plan on losing his job.

I think we are in deep shit.

9. COMING? COMING?
Are you joking me?
They are so entrenched in our government
and grooming young people to add to the mix
as we type!
WE ARE IN FOR SOME VERY SCARY TIMES.
This is just the beginning, trust me.
You are going to see events in your life time
at the hands of these people that you can not imagine.

11. cult like yep
lets see...does bushy project the following...

Illusion of Morality: Members believe their decisions are morally correct, ignoring the ethical consequences of their decision

Excessive Stereotyping:The group constructs negative sterotypes of rivals outside the group.

Pressure for Conformity: Members pressure any in the group who express arguments against the group's stereotypes, illusions, or commitments, viewing such opposition as disloyalty.

Illusion of Unanimity: Members perceive falsely that everyone agrees with the group's decision; silence is seen as consent.

Mindguards: Some members appoint themselves to the role of protecting the group from adverse information that might threaten group complacency

yep, see plenty of that going on.

12. Cult-think -- and cult leader profile
Edited on Tue Apr-13-04 09:45 PM by jokerman2004
I was involved in a religious cult for a number of years during my twenties. I'm sensitized to the whole formula.

Now I wonder if anyone heard the president make some vague references to how America changed and how such and such changed him...

Anyone have a transcript? I'm curious about the way he sees things.
