The spinners will say, "Move along...thereis nothing to see". It is just like Condi and the White House said, "It is just an historical memo"..They will try not to call it a "briefing" because the very word denotes some type of new information being put forth. They will say there was nothing in the briefing that was "actionable" intelligence. However, if we look at the last 2 paragraphs of the PDB, we see that NYC is specifically mentioned as a target. We see that they planned on using explosives of some sort. We see that it was a group of bin Laden supporters already in the US planning the attacks. Did our FBI know any of these supporters and where they lived? Were they using surveillance on these "suspects"? Did they have names that they did not follow up on? There was certainly "actionable" intelligence but it was ignored. There was a massive intelligence failure but the question is "Why?"

"Nevertheless, FBI information since that time indicates patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attacks, including recent surveillance of federal buildings in New York.

The FBI is conducting approximately 70 full-field investigations throughout the U.S. that it considers bin Laden-related. CIA and the FBI are investigating a call to our embassy in the UAE in May saying that a group or bin Laden supporters was in the U.S. planning attacks with explosives."

These revelations only confirm what most of us suspected all along. But that isn't the issue here. The real issue is, what do we do with this all of this info?

The GOP right-wing cast a virtual noose around Clinton's neck in the form of impeachment for a mere semen stain on Monica Lewinski's blue dress. The combined negligence, incompetence and neo-imperialism of the Bush-Cheney-Rove machine has resulted in the blood of thousands staining the sands of the Middle East. And yet there hasn't even been a hint of the same drive to punish Bush among Democrats as the Republicans mustered to tarnish Clinton.

I'll say it: November 2 isn't going to be enough to break Bush and his junta. We need to push for a full-scale investigation into ALL of their secretive activities, and punish those who deserve to be punished for jeopardizing the security of this country, its well-being and its future.

BUT, taken in context with the rest of the PDB's Bush has received since taking office, it think it may be a nail in the coffin of this presidency.

One note isn't necessarily a threat, but when daily PDB's to the president states terror is coming to America and they are ignored, it is true incompetence. Don't forget, these threats were specific enough for Ashcroft to stop flying commercial airlines yet Bush FAILED to alert the airline industry of the threat.

One big question: Why?

When the EVIL Bill Clinton was presiding over the nation, he received PDB's that hinted at a problem and he took action (Clarke's testimony) and the direct result of that action was the arrest of the millenium bomber as he tried to enter Washington State via Canada with explosives in his vehicle.
Did yáll know that 7 others were caught up in that incident also?

Bush, as a leader in defending us against terror has been an abject failure from the get go.
