Right Wing Vulnerability
Excellent article on DU's home page, "If Bush Is So Weak, Why Is He So Strong?"

The arrogance, dogmatism and cruelty of the Bush gang could prove to be their undoing ... George Bush is not invulnerable, for Johnson and Nixon were both far more capable and intelligent politicians than Bush.

Right wing cluelessness about Iraq is a major vulnerability. With the entire country in revolt, our goals for the occupation are unclear. Right wingers have no idea what we're doing in Iraq or what we hope to accomplish.

The June 30th deadline is ludicrous. I like to remind right wingers that Nixon could have withdrawn the troops in 1969 and gotten the same deal he got after several more years of fighting. The delay cost us 26,000 lives.

Why are we in Iraq? Because Bush is too pig-headed to admit a mistake.

2. Nixon Thought About It
Nixon thought about nuking North Vietnam but abandoned the idea because it was too horrible, even for him. Nuking Iraq is probably too horrible even for Bush, but that may be wishful thinking.
