Help me please; I cannot keep up with the lies and contradictions

I'm not the shiniest penny in the fountain but I can usually ascertain between truth and lie. But folks, this is getting ridiculous. Every thing that Fried Rice said has been contradicted by what she said before.

...we were focused on what bin laden might do overseas - Bin Laden intent on spectacular attack on US soil

...We had no idea this could happen - Hart Rudman report almost wrote the script for 9/11

...the PDB was historical summary - why is it in a briefing?

we can go on and on, and pretty soon someone (TruthIsAll, are you there?) will document every one of these. But my head is spinning.

3. You are much smarter than you realize, burythehatchet!
By merely recognizing the daily contradictions, you are obviously smarter than 99.99% of the American population!

You're now suffering from Cassandra syndrome: you can't understand why the rest of the nation can't see the obvious, especially when the facts are right in front of them.

6. Here is the one that is really AGGRAVATING me
She spoke about 'structural' problems re CIA and FBI and other institutions sharing info.

She gave Bush Admin great credit for minimizing this problem by instituting Dept of Homeland Security.

But wasn't Bush Admin OPPOSED to the creation of Dept Homeland Security until it became clear congress was going to pass it anyway, public wanted it and Lieberman (D) was going to get the credit for it?

8. Richard Clarke on Homeland Sec. Dept.
In his book Richard Clarke said that creating the HSD was the worst possible idea, since adding beaurocracy just slows things down even more. Possibly done on purpose? So they could keep the perpetual war going? (part of PNAC plans)

9. The main point of the HSD was to eliminate
Edited on Fri Apr-09-04 10:53 AM by burythehatchet
the job protecions for tens of thousands of govt employees who typically vote Dem. I don't know if they're union or not but it seems like a strategy to weaken their job protection. You'll recall that was the main point of the Dem position.

What I find absolutely ludicrous is that FBI and CIA were exempted.
