6. His hands shaking
Whatever he was in his past, and whatever he is now in strongly speaking out, the shaking in his hands speaks to him as a human who has some of his own physical struggles. I commend him for continuuing. (Yes, I know it's been there for a while... just needed to voice my appreciation.)

7. He's a "three dimensional man!" or maybe a "fourth dimensional man."
His love of History, Poetry and the America he's seen in his 86 years bears watching. I love to learn from our "elders." Trying to see life and America through their tired, fading eyes.

I am thankful that some like Byrd's eyes are bright and their memory has not faded and that they are here to pass along things to me that I need to know. If I don't want to know, I can discard it, but if I am receptive then he has lived his life to pass along and educate folks like me.
