Free Speech Zones- the absolute height of bullsh!t...
Edited on Thu Apr-08-04 02:56 PM by Redleg
I read in my local paper yesterday that "Young Republican" protesters attended John Kerry's recent visit to Cincinnati and waved "cheap sandals" in the air to symbolize Kerry's "flip-flops."

Now, this could never happen at a Bush rally because that sorry f@ck makes sure that "free-speech" zones are set up to keep the protestors as far from Bush as possible. The reason, according to the administration, is to minimize Bush's exposure to potential terrorists hiding in the crowds of protesters. If this is true, isn't John Kerry, as the Democratic candidate, entitled to the same security precautions?

By the way, I don't really support the "free speech zones" for any reason.

7. If you would recall...
Protesting the president or criticizing him during a time of war is terrorism to the Bushies. If the lib-uh-rulls and eggheads would just stop thinking, the government could get on with its war.

9. This crap is winding its way through the courts.
The ACLU is already on the case.

The sequestering and stifling of dissent for whatever reason is illegal and unconstitutional. Period.

14. It's not the same thing if both protestors and supporters
are treated the same- stuck in the same place. From the article I can't see the "free speach" zone gives preferential treatment to Dem supporters.

13. Did these start during Clinton's term?
I read that this started after the OK bombing. Since then I haven't been able to find any reference to when it was that this started happening.

18. Kerry should just come right out and call Bush a coward . . .
for relegating protesters to so-called "free speech zones" . . . "Whatsa matta, Chimpy . . . can't take the heat?" . . .
