The Apparat
I posted this last week as "Bush's back door politics" but this is really something I think every progressive should read to really understand what we're up against. It's very long.

1. I've posted this a couple of time myself . . .
and was surprised at how little discussion it provoked . . . I agree that this is something everyone should read . . .

2. I posted it yesterday. Got a whopping two replies.

I wish more people would read this. We need to be unified if we're going to beat the Repugs. That in no way means we have to adopt their methods and tactics. But we need to challenge them with a unified voice, and present a clear and coherent alternative message that people can latch on to. Quarrelling over Nader, Kerry, or whoever will get us nowhere. The last line says it all:

"Win or lose in November, liberals must now revive that America, charting a return to power in a concerted, long-run campaign to unseat the anti-Constitutional, one-party apparat."

3. Not many discussion hooks
The article covers just about everything and doesn't leave anything for people to add.

Except when they talk about Cleland, they should mention that his race was stolen by touchscreen voting.

4. Most of us are too lazy to read long losts, only a few do.
Unless it is of significant interest.

But it should be reduced to simplistic terms for the eye grabber.

Thus too many good threads go by the way side. Pity but so predictable.

5. This really does explain a lot of things and also underscores the
idea of being a vast right wing conspiracy. I am at least going to email this to a number of people.

I didn't know how I was going to "hook" people into reading this as I found it fasinating. I defines everything and makes the current trend crystal clear. I picked this up off "PHXnews.com". I subscribed to this paper and it has some good reporting and some forum stuff.
