Top Stories - Reuters U.S. Terrorism Policy Spawns Steady Staff Exodus Wed Apr 7, 3:57 PM ET Add Top Stories - Reuters to My Yahoo!
By Caroline Drees, Security Correspondent
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Since the Sept. 11 attacks, the Bush administration has faced a steady exodus of counterterrorism officials, many disappointed by a preoccupation with Iraq (news - web sites) they said undermined the U.S. fight against terrorism.

I'll bet they're all men married to men and women married to women who want to tax and spend HUGE surpluses on abortion services and flag burning grants.

poor bushistas... more and more people with real credentials are turning up explaining they are leaving because of bad management... aww, poor things, their media spinsters must be so tired from lack of sleep. soon their stories will not only conflict with each other, but start to become moonbeam outrageous. aww, send these poor souls in the white house a pillow, so that they can sleep well so that they can tackle all the growing "disloyal" targets that need to be discredited. and if that fails, maybe they can smother themselves with the same pillows to avoid prison charges.
aww, poor things, it's all falling apart isn't it... aww

This is more support for Clarke, much like the Musharraf interview where he also said attacking Iraq has really hurt the war on terror.

| 10. I'd bet most of these "quitters" are career beaurocrats who |
|
don't like * in general (like Clarke-he's worked for what, 4 administrations). I can see how a lot of people would view Clarke as a disgruntled long-time beaurocrat. It is believable. May not true. I dunno. But that viewpoint is valid and can be argued. Moderates are what you have to worry about. How do THEY view this. Not how do WE view this. It's not as much of a slam dunk as you'd think. * held over a lot of beaurocrats (as most administrations do). These people are not someone * hired after he took over. A lot of people are aware of this. More sometimes isn't better. Sometimes it's beating a dead horse in front of people who already have made up their minds. There are those that will grow tired of all the fingerpointing. And it should be no secret that this will be moderates who have lives to live and not partisan repugs or DUers who are rabidly on one side or the other. Either the point has been made by now, or not, I'm afraid. Unless there's more than just he said/she said stuff, we've reached climax here. I wouldn't get too hopeful of this making a difference. We need to worry about Kerry saying perfectly logical things that being twisted by repugs and the press as anti american. What was he thinking with this damn "legitimate voice" thing. We all may agree with it, but damn, it doesn't look very good in bold print, does it? He needs to watch how he says shit. Fuck, even I'd know not to touch that one with a 10 foot pole. Just don't say anything about it, Kerry. FUCK!!!!
