Rumsfeld: occupation of Iraq an "amazing accomplishment"
http://www.defenselink.mil/transcripts/2004/tr20040406-...

Q: Right. And you know a lot of the antagonists to the Bushs take on this whole Iraq situation say, you know, listen, wasnt this just a convenient way for President Bush to, like, you know, take out his frustrations on the threat on his fathers life and go over to Iraq and, you know, all that kind of stuff? I mean, why Iraq, Secretary Rumsfeld? Why did he pick Iraq, some people say? I know the answer to that, but

Rumsfeld: Well

Q: could you address that?

Rumsfeld: You bet. Heres a country that had used chemical weapons on its neighbors and on its own people. Heres a country that was killing somewhere between 15,000 and 25,000 people a year and filling up these mass graves and killing fields. Its a country that was giving $25,000 to suicide bombers who would go out and kill innocent men, women and children, the terrorists.

Q: Right.

Rumsfeld: And today what you see is 25 million Iraqi people who are free, whod been liberated and it is an amazing accomplishment.

1. .
Rumsfeld: You bet. Heres a country that had used chemical weapons on its neighbors and on its own people because I made sure to give it to S.H. in 1983. So basically, I'm the guy that was killing somewhere between 15,000 and 25,000 people a year and filling up these mass graves and killing fields. I'm the guy that was giving $25,000 to suicide bombers who would go out and kill innocent men, women and children, the terrorists.

there were no mass graves dated post-Gulf War 1 era. Can anyone verify this?

6. Who really supplied the dead bodies to fill those mass graves?
S.H or U.S?

9. Good question
What happened to the (heavy) Iraqi casualties in the first Gulf war? Maybe those corpses just evaporated.

10. 3 sources
1)--the US-backed war with the Islamic Republic of Iran
2)--the Gulf War following this
3)--the Shaaban intifada in the south after the war

actually, now there's another
4)--the US invasion and occupation. Many mass graves have been filled in the last week with many more Iraqi martyrs.

8. iran/iraq war: 1 million KIA
You have to put those bodies somewhere!

I've challenged supporters of the "amazing" liberation to show the mass graves were filled after the Gulf War, and nobody's been able to do it. I've also looked for info myself. So, from my experience, you can't find info dating the graves.

5. Next thing you know Rummy will call the occupation of Iraq:
A wonder of the modern world.

A cure for cancer or AIDS would be an amazing accomplishment, you stupid warmongering turd! Your war without end (Amen, Amen) is obscene and immoral. Not to mention illegal. Hope to see you in the dock someday at the Hague, with Little Bu$h and Cheney.

11. and his brown nosing military sidekick said that what they were
doing in Iraq was "a humane thing". He repeated this statement a couple of times. I am convinced that these men are raving lunatics and have been for some time..
