| Did anyone hear Carmine Garafalo on Janeane's show last night? |
|
That guy is a HOPELESS republican enabler.
Just hopeless.
Funny how so many liberals have republican parents, and forgive their insanity.

....my wife's parents are rabid repubs. My wife is an ardent liberal, the only one in her family.
Carmine sounded just like my father-in-law.
We certainly feel for Janeane.....we know what she goes through.

Italians used to almost always be Democrats... now, we have Scalia & Giuliani and others. I'm embarrassed as somebody that is 50% Italian.

I was struck last night with how with some folks, no matter how other-wise well intentioned, cannot be swayed from their candidate. There was a caller who asked the "what would it take?" question. I'm beginning to think that there is a growing segment where the answer is nothing.
I'm reminded that Nixon still had 13% who approved of him the day he resigned -- and were well past Nixon these days.

| 6. 29% of Chilean voters supported Pinochet in last referendum |
|
You know what Pinochet did in Chile. By the time that last referendum in Chile came around, even the most ardent Pinochet supporter couldn't deny all the slaughter and torture he was had ordered. It was documented by then. Yet 29% of Chileans still voted to give Pinochet another term.
Because of seeing this in a documentary, I now consider that 29% figure the baseline which a candidate cannot fall below in polls no matter how bad they are.
