Commission officials said their evidence showed that Ashcroft had taken little interest in counterterrorism before Sept. 11...

2. Ugh . . .
I hope they got what they wanted . . . they kept their hand stuck down Clinton's trousers the entire time he was in office. They just couldn't let go of Clinton's johnson and pay attention to what was really important.

A ship of fools.

4. It's getting clearer than the republicans in Congress were so
obsessed with Clinton's pecker that they didn't pay attention to anything of importance. No wonder they were called the "Do-Nothing" Congress.

3. and covering up statues...
I believe that there is a bombshell somewhere which we don't know about but is about to break. Reminds me of the time right before the Watergate Taping System revelation.

5. This really should be the best the administration could hope for
If it is determined by the 9/11 comission that the administration was alseep at the wheel and was really just completely disinterested in protecting us from terrorism, then the administration should consider themselves very lucky.

Because as disgusting as their actions were, it is better that people think that they were just apathetic and unprepared than for the public to realize that 9/11 happened because Bush NEEDED it.

6. Either way, they don't get reselected!
And I'm not sure the public will view this as apathetic. It might be seen as distracted with the total obsession on Iraq.
