BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- The U.S.-led coalition plans to execute a months-old arrest warrant for Moqtada al-Sadr, an influential Shiite cleric who in recent weeks has incited violence against the United States and called the September 11, 2001, attacks a gift from God, coalition spokesman Dan Senor said Monday.

Meanwhile, President Bush Monday reaffirmed the U.S. plan to turn over sovereignty to an Iraqi government on June 30, saying "the date remains firm."

Al-Sadr is believed to have taken refuge in the al-Kufah mosque, near the holy city of Najaf, south of Baghdad, a senior coalition official said.

Acting on a months-old warrant, the U.S.-led coalition in Baghdad arrested one of al-Sadr's deputies Saturday.

He isn't comin out of the mosque

He sent a communication out that said he was holing up in there. And there is no way Bush and Bremer are stupid enought to violate the sanctuary of the mosque. This blustery bullshit is so stupid, just something to try and keep the illusion going.
