John Dean, Richard Nixon's legal counsel who was jailed for his part in the Watergate scandal, has accused the Bush administration of trumping even the Nixon regime in secrecy, deception and political cynicism.

In the latest book to attack the conduct of the current United States administration, Mr Dean says that it has created potentially the most corrupt, unethical and undemocratic White House in history....

1. Yep
He particularly slammed into Cheney last week at Salon which I thought was interesting.

I think of President Bush could dump Cheney it would really make things a lot easier for him, but I also think there's absolutely no chance that he'll dump Cheney.

4. The problem is Cheney may be leading
Bush*, but Cheney is just one man among this faction. If this faction didn't have Cheney, they would assign someone else to lead Bush* by the nose.

5. Well, perhaps I should clarify my position
I don't think dumping Cheney will solve the problem of the Bush administration being full of lying decietful self rightious dopes. I think dumping Cheney will allow them to partially solve the problem of looking like lying decietful mean spirited guys who are in corporations back pockets.
