1. Where are you listening?
Yesterday I listened to Portland. 3 hours behind everyone. Got an east coast link?

Now that Howard is out, air america is the only link to reality!

3. Interesting discussion with David Brock
Brock is talking about the right wing, the differences between the left and right in attitudes. Do the liberals have the "mean gene"?
Brock says, liberals don't have to stoop to their level.

Now doing a hard-hitting "morning devotional" ridiculing the White House attitude toward Clarke.

6. Sid Blumenthal on now
Guess I'm one of the few reporting this morning.

Blumenthal talking about Clarke. Ripping Bush, of course. "The press has a strange relationship with Bush ..evident at press corp dinner...S.B. is appalled by dinner WMD jokes and the press just laughed and laughed...but it is a serious matter....a widow on the podium...not funny."

The press on the case: mentions the Rice speech she never gave.
Some press is "in on the game, false info, press has not come to terms that they are responsible for press lies"

White House press corps thinks they are toug, but not

False objectivity in press......

12. new Blumenthan column on Salon, com
The new rules of the game are that there are no rules of the game. In the preface of his book, "Against All Enemies," Clarke wrote that he expected an assault on his reputation from the "Bush White House leadership," who were "adept at revenge." Clarke had observed the politics of intimidation become standard operating procedure. Former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson, who, at the administration's behest, looked into the claim that Saddam was seeking uranium in Niger and concluded it was bogus, was subjected to a sustained attack that included outing the identity of his wife, a covert CIA operative, a federal felony now under investigation by a special prosecutor. Former Secretary of the Treasury Paul O'Neill had revealed that an invasion of Iraq was being pushed from the earliest days of the administration, and instantly he became the target for personal vituperation. Richard S. Foster, the chief actuary for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, was threatened that if he told the Congress the actual cost of Bush's Medicare bill while it was being considered he would be fired. So Clarke knew the new rules.

is the kind of show some on DU were wanting. This is a serious, hard-hitting news show and certainly more "sedition".

11. I figured they would cover the entire audience.
There were some really annoying people here yelling, "This sucks, that sucks" within a couple hours of the AA start up, without even waiting to find out the whole schedule.

It was very disappointing. Very childish.
