Nobody is talking about Dick Clarke's witnesses....Why?
Edited on Tue Mar-30-04 09:05 PM by glarius
I just heard the host of CNBC News say that he believes after Condi testifies it will be a case of he said, she said, and the American people will just have to decide who they want to believe, Condi Rice or Dick Clarke.....When I watched "60 Minutes" with Clarke, CBS said they had spoken to other witnesses in the White House who verified his version of the facts....Why doesn't the 9/11 Commission have them testify too, if they really want the truth?
This seems such an obvious solution to me, but I have never heard anyone suggest it!
For instance right now on Larry King, Lee Hamilton (D) and Thomas Kean (R) are discussing it...Why doesn't Hamilton say something????I think it's really kind of weird that nobody in the Democratic corner is making anything of this.

12. When Condit Rice Testifies
that ends the discussion. It is hoped by the WHite House she will be powerful enough in her testimony--Clarke will be overshadowed.
This ends the story and gets it off TV and out of the press. All the shows starting Sunday night have been leading up to this.
Tonight O Reilly announced hkis last coverage of this this issue. It
is over.

3. I'm wondering why a Dem. from the 9/11 Commission doesn't ask that
Edited on Tue Mar-30-04 09:08 PM by glarius
these witnesses be brought forward to testify?....I've seen several of them on TV with Republican members...Why don't they bring this up? Right now on Larry King, Lee Hamilton (D) and Thomas Kean (R) are discussing it...Why doesn't Hamilton say something????I think it's really kind of weird that nobody in the Democratic corner is making anything of this.

4. All of the Dems are making me horrified! They are all spineless!!
From Kerry's deadbeat speech today, to Dem spokespeople on the RW-media shows, and the Dem members of the Commission...what the hell is going on? The only Dem spokeperson that i saw today who had any tough remarks was Edwards. God, i wish Kerry had the fire of Dean. And they all seem to miss critical points to use to challenge these RW pundits. Is it me?
Does anyone else feel we are being let down?

5. What is the truth?
you know, I know, everyone here knows but this looks like it is heading to a standstill. Maybe stonewall is a better word to use. I was so hopeful but now I don't see much more coming of this. ;( Do you?

11. If enough people read the book if will educate enough
I have not heard one person step forward and say something such as line 29 through 34 on page 77 is not true or Chapter 11 is not true. Nothing from no one. The book is not footnoted and much of it centers on Clarke's role, but it is loaded with people, dates, events, deliberations, decisions, conversations, and outcomes - AND NO ONE HAS REFUTED ANY OF IT, that I have heard.

This is the book of books to read. History in a nutshell - easy to read - and if the history of the last 35 years relating to Arab countries, Muslims, wars, terrorism is at all fuzzy to you, you will be able to put it together to understand a heck of a lot more than before you read it.

We're making history today with the aftermath of this war and this administration and its nutty hawks with an agenda. The history of the last five administrations is right there for us to learn about in a capsule. Plus the days before 9-11 and after.

This is an important period for the citizens of this country.

8. This is right out of the GOP playbook.
They want three things, or some combination of these three:

a) Clarke discredited

b) Clarke poltiicized

c) at best, the public confused and not knowing what to think or who to believe.

What the CNBC host is pitching is point c), confusion.

9. Of course it will be a case of he said, she said
that is exactly what they want. Just like the Warren Commission that was all messed up--the more doubt and chaos the better to obfuscate the truth. And people will shrug and go on--and that includes all the panel members who were just there for the exposure. Not a one of them is interested in the truth or actually in exposing Bush for the prick and incompetant boob that he is.

Everyone knows that that is involved--they are all just playing the parts until it is over and nothing has been decided, letting them all off the hook.

And Diogenes walks back and forth, wearing his barrel, waving his lantern, seeking an honest man.
