9/11 commission better not let Rice meet privately.
I will be outraged if the 9/11 commission let's Rice meet privately with them. For them to even ask for such a cowardly way out is outrageous enough. If they let her get away with this, the whole commission will be consider flawed and whatever comes out of it will be suspicious.

1. I think the main point is not if it is public or not but under oath

2. Agreed
If the commission gets to the truth, however they do it, we'll be better off.

4. I don't think they have the choice... separation of powers....
I don't think they can subpoenaed her due to the separation Of powers. If they can why hasn't she been subpoenaed?

5. A Set-Up from the beginning is what I'm
now beginning to believe. The book had been cleared, White House knew what was in the book, heard Clarke's public testimony, had their attack dogs lined up and now Condi will go back and talk privately to the Commission. Beginning to sound like a very well laid out plan on the part of the White House.

20. As Bill Clinton said last night - they
are very good at this (not in direct reference to this topic). We absolutely must not underestimate the lengths this groups will go to - I'm talking politically - a well seasoned bunch that knows all the evilness of smear campaigns - they are very good at this. Not at running the country - evil, slimy politics.

6. Snotty McC has said:
the WH has provided unprecedented cooperation with the Commission.

the 9/11 attacks were unprecedented.

there is no reason (other than having a LOT to hide) for the WH not to order Rice to testify UNDER OATH.

but, that would be truly unprecedented for this sack of lying snakes

10. Chicken Rice
Has anyone thought of organizing a rally to protest her being 'chicken' to testify?

You could have a few people dressed up in Chicken Suits and have people bring stuffed/paper chickens, dress in yellow, etc. Maybe You could even have a buffet consisting of Chicken & Rice dishes just to continue the theme. :-)

Even if this doesn't shame her enough to testify I think being a somewhat different rally and focused on just one simple defined goal (i.e. Rice should testify under oath), it might just attract some media attention and force the bushies further on the defensive.

Of course, the main difficulty is that it would have to be organized pretty quickly to have any effect.

What do you think?

PS - I am a long-timer lurker but first-time poster.

14. Don't understand what it is that the public shouldn't hear from her
. . .unless there is something so terrible that she fears she could get stoned in public.

Christ! She's a public official but she doesn't seem to know she has an obligation to be accountable to the American people.

16. You should link all the books in your sig
to amazon with a referrer link. You could probably make some money to give to the candidate.
