Clinton Put a Face on Bush's Tax Cuts Last Night!!
I want Bill Clinton to give the speech I heard last night as part of a Keynote address at the Dem convention. That's the first time I could really feel those tax cuts. It was brilliant how he set himself up as a person loved my the republicans because he now has a lot of money--loved in that they want to give him those giant tax cuts. Then he pointed to the 100,000 kids who lost after school programs and the 160,000 more who will with the next tax relief for him. He told what just a lousy $5,000 less of his break meant to affordable day care and the like. And the image he painted of the ongoing sacrifices Americans will have to make (ss, medicare, education, etc.) in order to keep sustaining year after year his tax break was dumbfounding. Somehow that boy could always bring political verbage, ignored by so many, right into your living room as though Billy-Bob, the town sage, dropped in for a chat.

12. I think they ran it on C-SPAN 2.
I caught the speech live last night on one of the C-SPAN stations. They reran the Unity Dinner speeches later that evening.

There should be a transcript of the remarks somewhere, either through C-SPAN, a transcription company, or at a Democratic website. I'd be really surprised if the Dems didn't provide transcripts. They've done so with Hillary's remarks at various places.

By the way, the Big Dog was AWESOME.

2. Kerry should just run snips as his commercials
You nailed it...except it was 300,000 kids! Seriously, though, it brought a lump to my throat to see this. It also pissed me off that I had to be watching it at 1:00 am on an alt channel no one sees, after the entire day the mainstream news paraded out every Bush supporter on the planet to praise Lord God Bush and attempt to destroy the heretic, Clarke.

If America saw both of these side by side, would there be any doubt who would win in a historic landslide? Bill gave one of the most persuasive, beautiful, stunning addresses I've ever heard. Each little snippet is a perfect commercial for why America needs the dems back in charge.

3. Clinton
has always been "for the people". IF there is a change to the constitution it should be so we could re-elect him

6. You'd be hearing little "pops" all over the country
as their heads explode. Talk about massive cognitive dissonance! I like it.

5. He was talking about only people who made over a million dollars
He wasn't talking about the other 99% of the population. He was absolutely right. Why should the few have so much while the many suffer so much.

7. Taxes
I don't know of any law that prohibits sending the government extra money. Or, in the alternative, giving it to a charity that will focus the money to a specific use. If he doesn't want the tax cut, he can just write the government a check.

8. Unbrilliant
That thought doesn't even rate as two dimensional thinking. Might be a low point on a DU thread.

11. Oh great!
While we're at it, why not just make paying taxes completely optional for the top 1%? That would really work well.
