Even with Bush's "great" week, his approval still 48 percent
in the Newsweek poll. I know Kerry's had some missteps and he's now running even with Bush after leading, but it's interesting Bush's ratings haven't gone up one iota.

1. kerry is relatively unknown and 'definable' but bush...
people know pretty well at this point. if someone 'disapproves' of a president at this stage, little will sway them short of an 'october surprise'.

3. Kerry's "Bad Week"?
He's been on vacation, for crying out loud.

The way these media hos spin, I'm amazed that centrifugal force hasn't popped out their eyeballs.

4. "I voted for it before I voted against it"
A bad misstep that we will hear over and over in the next 8 months, I think they already worked into the "body armor" ad.

There was a much better way to say it~~"I voted for the plan that made sense and against their plan that didn't" as well as asking "Did we buy $87 Billion in body armor""Why don't the troops have it then?" "Why didn't they have it to begin with?"

48 is basically W's number. He isn't going to do better than that just as he got 47% of the vote in 2000. Polls in the summer of 2000 showed that about 47% said they would never vote for Gore due to the actions of Clinton's penis.

5. Is it just me, or does is that line an "obvious out-of-context" quote
When I saw that bush ad, and they showed the Kerry quote, it seemed like anyone rational would say - "wait a minute, what did the guy say next?" It just seems to be clear that GWB is quoting him out of context. . . but maybe it is just me.
