Maybe I need to take a break from following politics
I was just watching CNN headline news and they were showing video of Bush giving a speech, talking about John Kerry. When he started saying John Kerry would raise taxes (in fact, actually saying "I know what's he'd gonna do, he's gonna raise all yer taxes") I was so pissed off I could feel, and see, my heart beating extremely hard.

I thought I was going to pass out; Bush disgusts me that much. I wonder if I'll be able to make it to November without having a heart attack.

1. Hang in and welcome to DU
When you get those feelings you'll find support here. We all have to hang in till election day and get these idiots out of the WH. And when that happens we'll all have to be vigilant till inauguration day. Maybe then we can all have a well-deserved vacation.

4. Don't feel bad!! I know exactly what you feel!! lol
I listened to the entire speech while wishing i could see the war protests going on all over the world!! I have been really mad today. Tomorrow 60 Minutes is supposed to have an insider come out with 9/11 and Bush's incompetency stuff (Richard Clarke?). Tomorrow will be a better day. They might show some of the outside world's footage of the protests as well as it comes in. I'm afraid we will have many a day like this until November. I know I'll be boiling during the Republican convention as well. We just have to keep at it and make it the biggest fight we've ever fought! Stay with us and keep the support! We need it as well.

By the way, welcome to DU!

...Bush gave that speech right here in my hometown. I could not believe all those freepers gathered together under one roof. And there was Dubya giving that goofy smirk and he'd say "family values" and the whole room would burst out in frantic cheers. Have they seen the kinds of families he and his brother Jeb raised? Those daughters are absolutely nowhere within 500 miles of daddy. Then Duyba says, "we're in this war for the duration", and the whole area went wild with cheers, Jeeeesssus! That entire arena of repugs and rethugs are like "bring em on". The duration to GW I guess will mean 5560 dead, 40,000 wounded and counting. These people are so whacked out, they have no idea where this megalomaniac is leading this country except to:

Taxes or the whole country looking like Newark, NJ? Your choice.

When it gets too much, just turn off the TV. They are all in cahoots anyways. You're not going to miss anything. Trust me. They'll repeat it until you throw up. You won't get the news you're looking for from the cable news networks. It's becoming all propaganda for b*. So turn it off. It does WONDERS!!!

When you see Bush* on your tv turn it off, come here, hang out, and just read transcripts of what he says.

At least by coming here you will have people that are on your side and just as disgusted with 'the liar' as you are!

14. I felt that same way when I saw Shrub was leading in some polls
I vowed to stay off DU, cable and the Internet for a week - I was back on in one day.

Then I thought, fuck it, I'm pissed and vowed instead to do everything I can - donate to Kerry, use my anti-Bush bumper stickers, write emails to news orgs whereever Kerry is getting slammed or Bush is getting a free ride, begin a personal campaign of distributing anti-Bush literature in public places, bring up Bush's failures (politely) in conversations, etc. etc.

24. Welcome to DU, and - elbayl, these are all excellent suggestions.
GET INVOLVED! Note my sig line! I make people sick of me around here, nagging about the TOLL FREE NUMBER to call your congresscritter and "give 'em HELL on the HILL!"

Let 'em know how you feel and how outraged you are and how you won't be fooled. The more "they" know - whoever "they" are - be it the cable or tv media, the print media, radio media, congressional reps, local reps, local friends, shoppers, neighbors, fellow parents, fellow students, WHOEVER!!! It's just important that they know. ALL of them.

If they think you don't care, they won't, either.

PLEASE PEOPLE! DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! "60 Minutes" ENDS at the end of the 60 minutes. It's up to the rest of us to see that it lives on and keeps having an impact. This is VERY heavy stuff. Needs to be repeated ALL OVER THE PLACE! And, while you're at it, CBS needs to be thanked!

make note of it, make a copy of it, and make use of

Registering a new voter is a quick antidote to having to listen to Bush.

I have to get off the computer or go play a game, turn off the TV and radio, and go do something outside if I can. It can be hard to do that because it's like I don't want to miss anything...ugh

I get really worked up with anger...'taint good for my heart. I find myself just bruising for a confrontation. At that point, I get out the valiums and meditate on something positive. LOL

Coming in here to find out what's up is a great tool. I especially LOVE the witty posts that I often find in here...a little levity goes a long way to evening my nerves. I'll hang in with you and the other's if you will too. :hi: Peace

20. I've asked myself exactly the same thing
I don't know if I will live through the election. I've even thought about trying to get some very mild tranquilizers of some kind, as I have heart rhythm irregularity already. I've never taken any kind of tranquilizer or mood-altering meds. But this roller coaster is dangerous for some of us. I brought this concern up on a private message board the other day and the wags there suggested a certain illegal leafy herb. (Not something I want to do.)

Maybe you ought to have your blood pressure checked, thedecline. Make sure you're physically okay before the campaign gets worse.

When I think about election 2000 ----- I ain't looking forward to the chaos again.

The bought and paid for corporate media steadfastly refuses to acknowledge that millions of people despise Bushco. Instead they pretend that the chimp and his evil cabal are well-liked and popular, so that you, the viewer sitting at home, are supposed to think, "Gee, why am I the only one who doesn't like these guys? Maybe there's something wrong with me!"

I get sick to my stomach thinking about all of the evil perpetrated by these bastards the last four years while the media shilled and continues to shill for them. Our only hope is that people who haven't had their brains destroyed by pro-chimp propaganda disguised as "news" will wake up, realize that they have been lied to repeatedly, and remove the cancer that is destroying this country come November.

I'll kind of take a nap with one eye open - just in case something really big happens. Other than that, I'm going to enjoy my life. November is a long way a way and I need to save my strength. I plan to send money whenever I can, but other than that, I'm going to enjoy my life.
