If you want to keep your political info off the net

This is NOT a debate thread.

I just want to start a thread to let people who are concerned about political info being on the net to know that in some states (for example Texas) you have an option of writing to the voter registrar and asking that your registered voter information is not put on the net. If you do so, and there are applicable laws in your state, your info will NOT be put on the net. (as a disclaimer, your info will *still* be available in hard copy for anyone who wants it) You should contact whoever is in charge of voting where you live and ask them if this is an option for you. If so, and you don't like your info being on the net, you should take advantage of the option.

Also - as far as contributions - I am not sure if you can write to have this info not put on the net. I would imagine probably not, but if anyone wants to find out please post the info here.
