Bush looks like friggin' Mussolini !
He's on the TV at Ft Campbell with the troops. He's standing there with his nose stuck up in the air so high that if it rained, he would need to wear an egg shell over his nose to keep from drowning. Now they are chanting USA! USA! USA! Now he says he is "glad to be back".
He's putting on his best military posture and damn if he don't look like fuckin' Mussolini. Why can't the people see through his tepid little charade? I have never felt so bad about our nation. As if we need some military dictator to keep us secure...

5. Americans eat that shit up with a big old tablespoon....
That cowardly chickenhawk that checked the box that he did not wish to go and fight overseas, now is a big heroic leader saving our nation from the scourge of terrorism. He is vicariously taking the glory of the military conquests of the 101st in Iraq.

12. Glory indeed
He is vicariously taking the glory of the military conquests of the 101st in Iraq.

And considering the decrepid state of the Iraqi military, that's like Vince McMahon of WWE basking in glory for Stone Cold Steve Austin busting the chops of Niles Crane from Frasier.

27. just as he stole the spotlight from the USS Abraham Lincoln ...
He coasts in, within sight of land, so he can pretend to be the warrior-president leading his troops home from battle. Meanwhile his prancing around in the flightsuit actually delays the arrival of the carrier, so the families of those on board have to wait that much longer.

14. He's in prime campaign form...
I can see clearly why the military should always be under civilian control...No offense to the soldiers, but they are not mentally equipped to handle leaders such as George W Bush in a rational and non-military manner... They believe in their Commander in Chief... It validates their putting their lives on the line for the lies of their great leader...

15. "It's been a terrible blow to my life looking like Mussolini, you know.
Especially when I was a kid, you know, I was about seven, right, and I was down the Youth Club, you know, dancing away, right, like in the 'sixties, doing the Twist,...you know. And, em, there was this girl, right, and she comes up to me, and she goes,"'Ere! Are you Mussolini?" I said, "Emmm...Yeah." She says, "I thought you was dead." I says, "No, it was just me day off, you know." So she pulled me over the dance floor and butted me in the face! I said, "What's that for?" She said, "That's for the invasion of Crete!"

18. Have you noticed, he only speaks in front of military groups?
He won't speak in front of any group that can ask him questions. Why is he celebrating the anniversary of the invasion of Iraq today, two days before the actual anniversary? Is he afraid of running into protestors?

I hate it that he and his neo-con buddies have co-opted our nation's flag as their's.

26. Military or American Enterprise Institute.
That way no uncomfortable heckling or protestors.

Because the whole shrub presidency is a propaganda set piece.

Haven't seen it recently (don't know if they've given it up) but a frequent tactic of bushroveco when appearing in front of groups like AEI would be to have some kind of Orwellian slogan repeated on the wall behind him to be visible in the photo, like "Job creation."

19. my little rant
I can't stand to look at him. He makes me sick. He's an idiot who believes that repeating the same old empty words makes them true. I'm sorry but for the life of me I just can not understand how any one in their right mind believes anything he says. He's an idiot, a liar and an imbecile. (sorry do not mean to offend any inbeciles out there).

24. I had almost the same thought -- and with the AWOL issue,
I suppose, behind him, Bush can dress up and play CIC, without those pesky questions about his skipping out on his Guard duty, while these soldiers, who offer up their lives to military service, cheer.

Edited on Thu Mar-18-04 11:38 PM by Lisa
What an unforgettable image! Thanks, Kentuck.

Of course, given how big his schnoz looks (perhaps as a result of his jamming his finger up his nostril to the fourth joint -- no, I won't post the link to that video, some of us haven't had dinner yet) .... he would need to borrow one of these to have it fit properly.
