Is it illegal for media folks to donate or something?
I was feeling really bored at work, and did a few searches on prominent media figures with obvious biases (Hannity, Limbaugh, Colmes, etc) and here's what I found out:

- Hannity has not donated a dime to help even Bush
- neither has Rush Limbaugh
- neither has Ann Coulter
- or Laura Ingraham

wow these people will do EVERYTHING to help their cause. I'm not surprised Alan has donated anything, he'd probably be fired and murdered by Ailes for helping any Democrats...

1. It is not illegal for them to donate.
Perhaps they donate using a spouse's name? Has Rush Limbaugh legally changed his name? I thought Rush was just his "stage name"?

2. It may not be illegal, but their EMPLOYER probably has rules
about that sort of thing.

4. You are probably right about that.
They have to keep the perception of being "fair and balanced", right?

all have donated money to democratic causes. Bill O'Reilly at least donated to Rick Lazio's horrid senate campaign. I also did a search on "hannity" and got someone from Montana or something.

and if they claim "fairness and balance" to prevent fox people from donating, someone forgot to tell Rupert Murdoch, because he's donated like hundreds of thousands to republican causes...

6. They "donate" their "voice"
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 05:33 PM by SoCalDem
That is worth more than money.. Limbaugh has 3 hours x 5 day x 40 weeks or so..and then repeats all the time..

It would be "illegal" for him to donate that much in $$$..

Plus..

They like to register "independent"</wink-wink> so that they can claim to be an impartial observer..

They are the most generous of donors.:(
