What should Kerry's next 'sound bite' be?
While I deplore the 'dumbing down' of American politics to the point where most of the electorate seems to make up its mind based on snippets and impressions, I think we need to fight fire with fire in these times.
I LOVED the 'off the cuff' remarks and Kerry's refusal to apologize and his desire to focus on the issues.
WEAPONS OF MASS DISTORTION: great sound bite, memorable, turns one of W's big whining points back on the little imposter.
So what else would be good for Kerry to use?
I personally think we've been BUSHWHACKED by this misadministration; not sure if that's a good one or not...
What are your suggestions for how Kerry should present himself and how he should characterize the Chimp and his handlers?

1. Bushwhacked reads better than it sounds, I think.
He could use it in an editorial or something, though.

I think he should play off of the Republican desires for an apology; "DId I hurt the Republicans feelings? Seems to me that there's a lot of people in al-Qaeda who have said some mean things too. Maybe we need someone with a little thicker skin as President."

But that could back fire.

10. Exactly
One of the biggest mistakes the Dukakis campaign made against Bush the Elder was that every time the Repugs slimed him with something, Dukakis jumped right on the airwaves to attempt to explain it away. Kerry needs to get out there and use every opportunity to twist the knife he's plunged into the Bush campaign's side, whether it's making him look like a fool in the debates or pointing out his obvious lies to the country.

The debates...that's probably where Kerry should strike hardest. Gore let Bush keep his life, and that was a mistake, because the conservative media twisted it into a Bush victory (when your bar is set lower, it's easier to clear it). Kerry needs to destroy him in the debates.

2. How about this one:
"May I introduce my choice for VP".......we need to get a tag time out there fast. I think he should then follow by announcing over a several month period (with their approval, of course) the names of people he wants to put forth as his top cabinet positions. That keeps the news media running around with new stories, keeps them off of Bush and gives Rove way too many things to attack. After awhile calling a whole bunch of people filthy names would make the republicans look sicko and desperate.

3. The dagger has been put in already
with the "off the cuff" remark. Now he just needs to keep twisting it by constantly pointing out Bush's lies in speeches.

5. "We have gone from the Land of the Free to the Land of the Free Speech
Zone..."
I think he should focus at some point on the denial of civil rights by a little coward who cannot even tolerate any dissent...
I thought the whole USA was a 'free speech zone,' according to the Constitution...

6. Ah I forgot
A good sound bite would be to ask, "Whose finger do you want on the button?"

neutralize and attack with:
Perhaps Mr. Bush and I can agree that changing situations, emerging intelligence and expanding investigations have led us both to change our opinions over time.

Americans want a president to make the right decision. Not the same decision. Especially when that decision has proved to be tragically wrong.
