Dissecting *'s brain: the left side seems unresponsive
"SUBTLE DISORDER." To some learning-disability experts, the signs are clear: Bush might want to pay them a visit. These experts haven't tested the President, so they caution that they can't be certain of the diagnosis. Yet, ample signs indicate that something unusual is going on in the left side of his brain, where language and hearing are processed.

The possibility is high that there's some dysfunction in the way he hears words, the way he processes what he hears, or the way he retrieves words when he tries to speak. When someone uses the wrong word or malapropisms and has difficulty with grammatical sentences, experts on learning disabilities "typically suspect at least a subtle language disorder," says William Stixrud, a clinical neuropsychologist in Silver Spring, Md.

Some voters infer from Bush's syntax and behavior that he isn't the sharpest saw in the tool box. Yet, learning and processing disorders aren't indicators of native intelligence. If anything, a learning disability would better explain how Bush has accomplished so much, with his critics underestimating him every step of the way

1. dyslexic
I remember reading (in al franken's lies and the lying liars...) that Bush is dyslexic, and worked with a reading tutor in high school.

2. I would love to know what accomplishments..................
bush has had. The story states "a learning disability would better explain how Bush has accomplished so much". Hah! Everything he has touched has been a disaster and it was only poppy and his friends bailing him out that saved his ass. Even running for president had been a sham. He was no more qualified than you or I, (actually we read so maybe we are more qualified). He was a known name without an ounce of ethics or integrity. Just what his handlers were looking for.
Nothing more, nothing less.

3. Supposedly . . .
his inability to speak intelligently makes him more accessible to the American public. Or that's what the reich-wing believes, but then, how STUPID do they think the American public is ?

4. I had something like that
I had to take speech classes. I had a hard time reading too. I basically taught myself how to read. I used to always get in trouble in English class. I'd get A's on writing my own stories and F's on everything else. They'd say, "How can you do this and not that". I still don't know what I had. I never thought W was stupid. I think he's uncurious due too his massive sense of intitlement. He's NOT innocent and that's all that matters. Even if he is dumb. He's the Mafia Don's son. He's knows what's going on. We don't want to let him off the hook like Reagan got off.

5. Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome
"Korsakoff syndrome, or Korsakoff psychosis, involves impairment of memory and intellect/cognitive skills such as problem solving or learning, along with multiple symptoms of nerve damage. The most distinguishing symptom is confabulation (fabrication) where the person makes up detailed, believable stories about experiences or situations to cover the gaps in the memory. Korsakoff psychosis involves damage to areas of the brain."

http://www.healthcentral.com/mhc/top/000771.cfm

Check out the laundry list of symptoms. If this aint Bush, what is? It explains the pretzel, the fall off the Segway, dropping the dog, needing assistance to get out of a vehicle much of the time, the slurred speech, confabulation like his story about seeing that first plane hit the WTC and so much more. He has admitted to a history of heavy drinking, which is the primary cause of this syndrome. While I'm sure he's getting adequate replacement thiamine now, the cognitive impairment and some of the central nervous system damage are permanent.

Bush probably has normal intelligence, but if he really has this syndrome, should he be running the country?

6. If Bush were intelligent, and compensating
for a problem with understanding through speech, you expect him to be a voracious reader, and good with the written word. Yet he has a reputation for not reading, and I've never heard of him writing articles.
If anything, it seems to me he's at best of average intelligence, and lazy when it comes to communication - verbal and written. Just one more reason to vote against him.
