On the radio: Selective Service ad followed by a Tom Ridge ad
Today I heard Sean Astin (Samwise Gamgee, LoTR) give an energetic effort in a long Selective Service registration ad.

The next commercial break featured Tom Ridge telling us to prepare for terrorism at work by creating a readiness kit. You have to call or write in for information. He called all of what we do in this effort "serving America."

The preparing at work part (instead of just preparing in general) makes a strong connection to the Twin Towers - all those people died at work.

Plus, being a LoTR fan (and now hearing Samwise/Sean Astin on my radio), I've been wondering if the admin would incorporate the popularity of LoTR (Two Towers ~ Twin Towers) into their All Fear All The Time theme.

On further study, Sean Astin has been involved with the SSSystem for quite a while -

1. I am so tired of those Homeland Security commercials.
It boils down to "Wanna be safe? Turn brown people in to the authorities, and buy lots of bottled water."

It should be called the Department of Snitching & Shopping
