WTF people! Howard Stern over Mike Malloy?
There are about 5 threads open right now about Howard Stern. Stern turns on Bush for ONE day and some people on here are acting like Stern is the new great bastion for the liberal cause....please! Meanwhile, Mike Malloy a great voice of the left is unemployed! Can we get some perspective here? Please sign the petition to get Air America Radio to hire Mike Malloy.

1. Already done it
but face it, Howard Stern has the potential to be a MUCH more effective tool for the advancement of Democratic ideals than Mike Malloy could ever hope to have. His voice reaches millions of voters every day.

3. Yes, unfortunately that's true. I can't stand Stern
but he still has the corner on the Bush-voting, white male demographic. I have a feeling Stern is about to face a lot of censure from his affiliates and things will get really ugly for him.

5. Stern is a completely unreliable ally; He's an egomaniac flake.
We can use him for our arguments, but I wouldn't depend on him to behave for very long. Before too long he'd turn on us too. I half expect him to say something to ingratiate himself to the powers that be before too long.

For Clear Channel to yank Stern during February sweeps month sends a real strong signal (no pun intended) about where their priorites are.

10. He is a good way to get to the ...
sheeple masses. I'm sure they all had a love fest when Stern was talking about killing all the brown people. That was the time that I stopped listening to him. I'm am enjoying a lite addiction to my local NPR station.

Stern has a unique imfluence on many who probably love AWOL. He just might get them thinking.

I consider myself a Stern fan. I think he is funny. If you are looking for socially redeeming value, he ain't the one.

Cheers
Drifter

13. But that is only true because sex sells.....
and Stern is so cheap and classless. He knew how to make a living tho, and always will because of his lower animal appeals. On the other hand, Mike Malloy is a mind trip and so few of us revel with that. Damn. Too many lights are out today. One more boring night. Quick! somebody hire the man.!

2. the excitement is over Stern's listenership...
Having someone with a listenership in the millions all over the U.S. calling the Bush regime on the lies and saying that they need to go is significant.

I think most of us here are just in shock at hearing anti-bush talk on a goddamn radio station you can listen to in the car.

4. Stern being Immediately Banned
also caught a lot of attention. Many of us are sad about MM but we also knew it was coming and had a chance to talk about him beforehand. But Stern gets punted on the day he opens up on Bush is a different kinda event...so it's very current and noteworthy. Not a slap at Malloy.

7. Mike Malloy is more of a man than Howard Stern could ever dream of being.
Howard Stern is a sexist and racist pig. Why do you all think he's a Godsend all of a sudden? He bashed Bush one day. ONE DAY! Mike Malloy has been bashing Bush since day one. And Mike isn't a sexist and racist pig.

12. It's A Shtick With Stern...
I can't peer into his heart but I doubt the man's a racist or sexist...

14. It wasn't one day, you don't listen to him so you wouldn't know
Howard has never been pro-Bush. He voted for Gore, always said Bush stole the election, always said Bush was a lazy, do-nothing president.

Howard is the reason millions of people can wake up happy every day and start there days off with humor. Mike Malloy I'm sure is a fine person, but I wouldn't know because he can't manage to get any audience.

During the whole primary process Stern has praised Kerry, Dean and Edwards, and the ONLY candidates he has bashed are Lieberman and Sharpton. He's also consistently stood up for gay rights

9. I fully support and respect Malloy.
I think the reason that Stern is getting all this attention is that he's a voice that formerly supported Bush that is now calling him and his gang 'fascist right-wing a-holes.' On the air, on his air.

I'd rather listen to Malloy than Stern any day of the week, but if Stern wants to put the bug in his listeners' ear that Bush is a fascist (listeners who have probably never heard a bad word about Bush), I'll take it.

Politics make strange bedfellows.

15. no, You're misinformed about Stern, he was never "pro-Bush"
And his listeners have heard Howard criticize Bush since long before he was "elected".

His listeners aren't idiots, only some of them are, probably the same percentage as the listeners of most other radio shows, probably a smaller percentage as those who listen to Rush or Hannity.

16. Stern supported the Iraq invasion.
Pretty pro-Bush, if you ask me.

But like I said - if he's going to go off on Bush heading into the election, I'll take it.

I was a Stern fan long before he became 'Howard Stern.' I listened to him when he was on WNBC battling Imus and Soupy Sales, up until he got canned. I listened to him for a while on K-Rock, but I gave up on him because his shit got tired - the only thing I found funny after a while was the news.

But I did listen this morning. And hearing him call ThugCo 'fascist right-wing a-holes' was worth it.

11. Done! Thanks for the link.
I love Mike Malloy. The world is a sad place today, without my fix from this liberal sweatheart. I miss him.

17. Stern reaches 100 times as many people as Malloy.
And Stern has been squelched for it. Malloy had the misfortune of working for a small network that went under. We all wish Malloy well, but his show's demise is hardly controversial.
